Never at a Loss

This morning I hear the words, never at a loss.

We know the meaning of never at a loss for words or a good businessman might boast that he is so good that he never sells anything at a loss or a person who has invested in the stock market might say he never sees a loss. That's the way it was.

Then, potential for loss looms.

People panic. Like they did in the boom times, creating a bubble of enthusiasm thinking they are invincible, they walk thru life blissfully, then something threatens and they panic never understanding that panic is an inverted bubble. Both are irrational.

What I heard the Lord say was when we invest ourselves in HIM we are guaranteed to never be at a loss. Oh, in the flesh. Jesus warned us not to fear him who can kill the body, but to fear him who can destroy our eternal soul. He warned us not to get too hung up on worldly stuff and build bigger barns because our treasure is in heaven where moths and rust have no effect.

Paul by the Holy Spirit writes to the Corinthians in his first letter, chapter 3 (emphasis mine).

10By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should be careful how he builds. 11For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, 13his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work. 14If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. 15If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames.

16Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you? 17If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him; for God's temple is sacred, and you are that temple.

18Do not deceive yourselves. If any one of you thinks he is wise by the standards of this age, he should become a "fool" so that he may become wise. 19For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight. As it is written: "He catches the wise in their craftiness"; 20and again, "The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile." 21So then, no more boasting about men!
The works we do on behalf of righteousness will cost us in this life many times. They will seem like loss. They are NOT. The wisdom of all around you, the media, the world system will pummel you saying "Loss, Loss, Loss".

We must not allow the boasting about men to cause us to lose focus. The wise set a trap and are caught in their own devices.

It's all foolishness, and if we hear the word of the Lord, no matter what happens we cannot suffer loss if we have Him. My beloved is more precious than gold or jewels or power or position or anything that is anything of value on this earth that will not be taken to heaven when you die.

You can only send it on ahead, there is no loss in THAT Kingdom. When you serve him you never at a loss.
