A Scripture Picture from Last Night

Last night during the meeting in Chicago Heights I saw a vision of what is happening.

Sometimes a vision comes from a familiar story from the Word of GOD.

This from Mark 2:
1 A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home. 2 They gathered in such large numbers that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them. 3 Some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them. 4 Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on. 5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”

6 Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves, 7 “Why does this fellow talk like that? He’s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

8 Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, “Why are you thinking these things? 9 Which is easier: to say to this paralyzed man, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, take your mat and walk’? 10 But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the man, 11 “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” 12 He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”

Here's the revelation I got from reflecting on this during the meeting:
  • There is a crowd where Jesus is.
  • Many stand at the door, controlling who gets in or out. Gatekeepers
  • They believe that they have everything as it should be.
  • If you bring something to the King, you must get past them.
  • There were many.
  • The Word is going forth, but the lame aren't hearing it
  • The paralyzed ones are still paralyzed. Chicagoland is paralyzed
  • It took four determined crazy friends who would not give up to bring the Paralyzed to Jesus
  • They had to DIG to get the Paralyzed one to Him.
  • The crowd didn't cooperate
  • It took an unorthodox pathway to get before the king. One many didn't approve of. Some things had to be torn up to get there.
  • It's faith that Jesus responds to...He SAW... He SEES
  • Sin is forgiven before anything else happens. There is much sin...so much grace abounds.
  • There will be opposition and even accusations of blasphemy. Jesus got it, so will we.
  • The revelation of the critical heart will soften them.
  • Healing will take place in the City in Full View
  • People will say.... “We have never seen anything like this!”

Let us be like those four crazy friends and do what others won't do

101 Time Indicators Concerning the Kingdom by Apostle John Eckhardt

101 Time Indicators in the New Testament Concerning the Time of the Kingdom. Many of the verses use the Young's Literal Translation which translates the Greek word "mello" as "ABOUT TO." So, if this that was written in the first hundred years after Jesus, what rapture ready false theology makes us think we are at the brink today?

Gary Oates: Keys to a Long Life!

Looking for the Fountain of Youth? We often look in the wrong places:

• Pharmaceutical companies are developing drugs they claim will make us live longer.

• Replacement hormones that promise longevity have become increasingly popular.

• Anti-aging cream and serums abound.

• Plastic surgery can make us look younger.

Moses had none of the above and died at the age of 120 in perfect health and with perfect eyesight. So what's up with that?

Our lifestyle choices play a significant part. Statistics show that those who eat right, exercise, and sleep well live longer than those who don't. For sure, those are things we should all do, but that's not the whole story.

And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years. –Abraham Lincoln

I recently celebrated my 67th birthday. Honestly, I don't think of myself as being that old. I jokingly said to a group of people that I am now 39 years old for the 28th time. That caused me to start thinking about what the Bible has to say about longevity. Here's what I found:

Keys to a Long Life

PEACE

Proverbs 14:30, A tranquil heart is life to the body...

WISDOM AND UNDERSTANDING

Proverbs 3:13-16, How blessed is the man who finds wisdom and the man who gains understanding. For her profit is better than the profit of silver and her gain better than fine gold. She is more precious than jewels; and nothing you desire compares with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor.

THE FEAR OF THE LORD

Proverbs 10:27, The fear of the LORD prolongs life...

Proverbs 19:23 (Amp), The reverent, worshipful fear of the Lord leads to life, and he who has it rests satisfied; he cannot be visited with [actual] evil.

Proverbs 22:4 (Amp), The reward of humility and the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is riches and honor and life.

THE WORDS WE SPEAK

Proverbs 18:21 (Amp), Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life].

Proverbs 13:3, The one who guards his mouth preserves his life...

Proverbs 10:11, The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life...

Psalm 34:12-14, Who is the man who desires life and loves length of days that he may see good? Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit. Depart from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.

OBEDIENCE

Proverbs 4:10, Hear, My son, and accept My sayings and the years of your life will be many.

Proverbs 3:1-2, My son, do not forget My teaching, but let your heart keep My commandments; for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you.

Proverbs 4:20-22, My son, give attention to My words; Incline your ear to My sayings. Do not let them depart from your sight; Keep them in the midst of your heart. For they are life to those who find them and health to all their body.

Proverbs 7:2, Keep My commandments and live...

Read Deuteronomy 28:1-14: The blessings of obedience.

NOT BEING GREEDY

Proverbs 28:16 (Amp), ...he who hates covetousness and unjust gain shall prolong his days.

LOVE

Psalm 91:14-16 (Amp), Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never]. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him My salvation.

CHOICES

Deuteronomy 30:19-20, I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants, by loving the LORD your God, by obeying His voice, and by holding fast to Him; for this is your life and the length of your days, that you may live in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.

CONTINUALLY PRAISE HIM

Psalm 103:1, 5, Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name... Who satisfies your years with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle.

You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream. –C.S. Lewis

A Prophetic Look at a Young Woman Coming Out as a Homosexual

Watch this Video to be fair. Many who have watched this have lauded the young woman as brave, honest, forthright and in all those ways without hypocrisy as moral. It is important to give this fair hearing. In the video, this young woman declares that she is a Lesbian, a Homosexual.

It's hard not to have some sympathies for this young woman's plight. She is in a place she didn't choose. She tried NOT to be. She will be subject to significant rejection and even abuse because of her transparency. Her coming out was hard.

As a Prophet, what is my response to this? I want to be clear. I must only say what God says. Like Baalam, if I try to deviate, I will be shut up. So, it must speak the heart of God as revealed in scripture and by the Holy Spirit. I must ONLY say what God Says, or I am a false prophet. People will interpret this as a teaching. NO, teaching is taking principles and meshing them against the world. Prophesy is taking the world and meshing them against the WORD of God. There is no relevancy, no cultural adjustment for hearers. That is teaching. Prophecy holds a plum-line of the Word of God (in love) next to where the world is and by the Word demonstrate how far from the that center we have drifted.

I would also invite anyone who reads this to TEST, JUDGE and MEASURE if the Prophet has been successful in revealing the heart of the matter. As I have allowed this to sort in the Spirit, this is what I am hearing:

Every person on the planet that has ever lived or ever will live (other than Jesus the Christ) has sinned or carries the curse of a sin nature and therefore comes short of the perfection to stand in the presence of the Holy Perfect Glory of God. He cannot allow a person who is a sinner in HIS presence or HE would cease to be Holy and HIS Heaven would be stained by sin.

If you sin, you cannot enter heaven. If heaven's perfection is what is destined for you on earth as it is in heaven then any sin, big or small, open or secret is less than God's purpose for you.

We were all born with a twisted nature, iniquity. None of us were born with perfect obedience to the will of God to successfully live as HE purposed for us. I was born twisted in many ways and so were you. The good news is HE was bruised for our twisted-ness (Iniquities). So when people say, they didn't choose this, it was handed to them, that they were born this way, there is truth in what they say:

The meaning of “iniquities” comes from a Hebrew word that means “to twist, to distort or to bend”. Often times an iniquity will start as a bended version of the truth; a slight distortion of the real. An iniquity puts its own twist on life, values, mindsets, etc. Upon further study of God’s word it seems like iniquity is different from transgression in that it is something handed to you whereas transgression is something you personally do.

I have worked in prison ministry long enough to know the truth of this. Many of the men and women there are there because of generational iniquity, twistedness that came to them, some by bloodline. Breaking those generational twistednesses is NOT just deliverance, it requires a long discipleship process that untwists values and mindsets they were born with or developed.

The result of the twisted values and mindsets, no matter how acquired, is a propensity to sin. To bear the twisted nature is not a sin. To practice it is. Every person bears the twisted nature of some kind or another and is sinful by nature. If you deny that you sin, you are deceived and without truth in you.

The Laws of God and HIS Word is a light and a mirror for us to recognize the sin in our life and our need for the cleansing blood of Jesus. The list isn't that long. There are the ten commandments, and the revelations from the Gospel and writings of those after the day of Pentecost. Jesus makes it pretty clear and so do the apostolic utterances, that there are things that if we PRACTICE them are Sin and will condemn us to an eternal hell. Damnation may even be something that we will begin to experience on this side of the veil. In working with prisoners it is obvious that they are already living a hell that will intensify when they step from time into eternity. Those in bondage to sin know they are, even if they try to rationalize it. They know something is not right. If they suppress it for a while they are deceived by the deceiver.

Like lying. Everyone does. They know it's not right. They know it goes against the truth and laws of God. They know they should NOT do so. Yet they lie. We lie. I lie. You lie. If I tell a lie, does that make me a liar? If so there is no hope for me at all? According to the scriptures I am eternally lost, to be thrown into the lake of fire:

The cowardly, unbelieving, vile, murderers, sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, idolaters, liars, adulterers, male prostitutes, homosexual offenders, thieves, the greedy, drunkards, slanderers, and swindlers (Rev. 21:8; 1 Cor. 6:9,10; Gal. 5:19-21)
I am lost forever if this is true. Since this comes from the source of all authority, I should just give up, admit I am lost, become a bold liar and tell people I was born this way (it's true) and that I am hopeless; UNLESS...there is a redeemer. UNLESS there is a Savior. UNLESS someone else could make this wrong right for me. A psychiatrist helping me rationalize the reality of my untruthful nature can't. Society saying, "Everyone does it" doesn't justify it. An education system that tries to normalize lying won't change me. A social movement of Liars that encourages people to come out as liars and embrace how they were born will put me on a path that leads to hell.

SO, am I lost because I lie? NO. I am not a liar because I lie. I am a liar if I make peace with my sin, submit to, openly practice such things. The word of God is clear, it is not the sin repented of that condemns us, it is the PRACTICE of such things. I am not a liar because I lie, I become a Liar when I see that as my identity, my practice, my standard operation. The Blood of JESUS is enough to cleanse me from EVERY unrighteous act, even lying. BUT if I practice it without repentance I become a Liar and there is no remission of sin. I am condemned by my practice.

Jesus recognized the right of a crowd to stone a woman caught in adultery. He didn't stop them. He did something that made them stop. Then after they went away, He said,

“Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”

“No one, sir,” she said.

“Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”
This is the story where "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone comes from". It is misused constantly to say we shouldn't judge those who have made peace with their flesh nature. When Jesus released her, she wasn't off the hook. SHE was instructed to LEAVE YOUR LIFE OF SIN.

If she had protested, "But Lord, I was born this way. I can't help it. I have these adulterous impulses. I like to sleep around. God made me this way". She would have walked away condemned, BY GOD. It was the practice of the sin that caused him to say what he did.
Certainly she sinned again in the rest of her life. Like you and I do. She MIGHT have even committed adultery again. BUT if she repented, fell on her face, she was instantly restored. God IS faithful and just to forgive our sins. BUT also to Cleanse us. It's that second part that must be seen in light of the video.

Sin is sin. The Practice of continual sin without repentance makes us a sinner, and will cost us our eternal soul if we don't turn around, repent.

I lie, but I am not a liar for I am not willing to give into the sin that trips me up. I will not make peace with my sin. I will fight against the impulses that would cause me to sin. I will run to the Cross and plead the blood when I fail. If I didn't I would be on the wrong side of the Cross.
I am therefore NOT a liar as Jesus described in:

John 8:54.55 says, "Jesus answered: “If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. It is my Father that glorifies me, he who you say is your God; and yet you have not known him. But I know him. And if I said I do not know him I should be like you, a liar."

I know HIM and therefore am a Child of God who struggles with a Sin, Forgiven, Restored, Headed for a certain Heaven, but only as one who sins and repents rather than one who makes peace with a sin identity and says, I am a Liar, I lie, I was born a liar and therefore lie. It causes reproach to be a liar, but if I boldly admit my lying, you can't harm me any more, I have come into the light. My transparency protects me. Right? Wrong.

IS that the call of God? If this young girl gets to heaven (and I hope she will) will she be a lesbian in Heaven? Will a liar who embraces the Liar identity be a liar in heaven? Will Joni Erickson Tada be a quadriplegic in heaven? Of course not. So if we call out on earth as it is in heaven....?

An old Russian Proverb says: Make peace with man and war with your sins....

Our flesh and our Spirit are at war. Constantly. We may be overpowered even occasionally by the enemy, to have lost the battle sometimes. Sin and the devil have been defeated. That much is clear. The problem is satan didn't get the memo. He thinks he still has a shot. Sin Flesh and the Devil is in the world.

1 John 2:16
For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world.
Paul well knew the law of sin and death:

So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death?"
--Romans 7:15-24 (NIV)
The issue with the young lady is not that she is a homosexual, trapped in a homosexual lifestyle that is as sinful as lying, but that she is headed for hell as an unbeliever and has bought a social lie that she has now embraced:
“As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: 7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. 8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:...” Colossians 2:6-10.
She has NOT received Christ Jesus and needs him. He will save her, deliver her, sanctify her. It isn't instant. It will take time. But she will be whole if she steps from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light. God doesn't want anyone to perish. She is on the road to certain perdition and for that we should pray that she find Jesus. Her homosexuality is a symptom of her lost nature and the deception she has given into. The shame she has felt, the rejection she fears will not be solved by her posting this video. It may in fact lead many to follow her in her quest for acceptance. He quest will be empty without Jesus.

In the words of Isaiah, “no one who believes in him will be put to shame” (Rom 9:33, 10:11). Peter reminded Christians of the same thing: “For it stands in scripture: ‘Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious, and he who believes in him will not be put to shame’” (1 Pet. 2:6).

“ Sin shall not be your master, for you are not under law but under grace" (Rom.6:14).

“Everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure” (1 John. 3:3).

Christ is “our wisdom and our righteousness” (1 Cor. 1:30). Our righteousness is not of ourselves, “for Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes” (Rom. 10:4)

“... we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Please notice the word “but”, following the words “...we wrestle not against flesh and blood...” This is even in our own flesh......

She is lost forever if she doesn't find Jesus and come to him as broken as most of you have done. To praise her bravery might be a good thing for the moment, but we should mourn for her willingness to embrace a life of sin. Jesus stands ready to forgive her, without condemnation, but then he will say, "go then and leave your life of sin. Sin no more".

She is on the wrong side of the Cross of Christ. Let grace abound to her as her sin abounds. She needs Jesus....who will go? She can be healed of this affliction. She may always have the urges and impulses. She may even stumble. But she can be whole where she is broken.

All of this is drawn from the Word of God written down for us.

Bob Jones would be a failure as a Prophet in some Places

No matter what you think of Bob Jones (I have a high opinion of him just to set the record straight) he would not be very successful as a prophet in many of our churches. He's slow, quiet, deliberate and pauses to hear from God as he speaks. When he's done hearing from God he stops prophesying. He only says what God says. I want to be more like that. Few words then stop.

That doesn't seem to be the prophetic pattern in many churches.

I don't think Jesus would be a very effective prayer leader at some gatherings:

Jesus raised up a long dead man by Praying this (John 11):
Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. 42: And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. 43: And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. 44: And he that was dead came forth

I wonder if we could be so in tune with the heart and purposes of God that we could speak with that same authority in our churches...simple, pure, steady and then ONE COMMAND on all creation. Remember Jesus did this as a MAN. Not as God. Just like we are supposed to.

I don't think he would be in the flow of many of our fellowships.

Perhaps it's time to slow down, speak with authority out of intimacy with the father and command all creation to come into line with the Word of God. I don't think people needed ear plugs when Jesus prayed.

In fact I'm guessing that when Jesus prayed over his Disciples (John 17), it was a pretty intimate moment. That's what a sound system should do, allow for greater inclusion. I'm not convinced we have that figured out. The Disciples asked him, don't teach us to cast out demons, don't teach us to raise the dead or feed 5000. They asked him: TEACH US TO PRAY

I suspect that these prayers drove that request.

11. Praying before Peter's great confession (Luke 9:18; Matthew 16:14-17)

12. Praying during His transfiguration (Luke 9:28-35)

21. Praying His great High Priestly Prayer (John 17)

22. Praying in Gethsemane prior to His death (Mark 14:32-42; Matthew 26:39-46)

23. Praying on the cross (Luke 23:34; Matthew 27:46; John 19:30; Luke 23:46)

24. Praying at His resurrection (Hebrews 2:12,13; John 20:17)

25. Praying at Emmaus (Luke 24:13-35)

LORD teach us to PRAY!

Word of the Lord - Unity in Taking a City - It's a supernatural force

Last Night in the Taking the City... Re-digging the wells of Revival; Prayer meeting at Cornerstone the word of the Lord came. There is a supernatural force released when Unity of Purpose is manifest.

Here's what the Lord says:

Looking down on Babylon when people in rebellion were building a tower toward heaven the word from the Throne:
“Look!” “The people are united, and they all speak the same language. After this, nothing they set out to do will be impossible for them! Genesis 11:6
That was people in open rebellion. Now if those called by my name for a righteous purpose are united, and they speak the language I have put in their mouth, NOTHING THEY SET OUT TO DO SHALL BE IMPOSSIBLE FOR THEM.

It's a supernatural ability that comes from a manifestation of MY word of agreement as MY Body moves AS ONE.

The Lord says, I have seen as I send My mighty army to take a city. The enemy fears as he sees the supernatural power of unity:

4 Their appearance is like the appearance of horses, and like war horses they run. As with the rumbling of chariots, they leap on the tops of the mountains, like the crackling of " a flame of fire devouring the stubble, like a powerful army drawn up for battle.

Before them peoples are in anguish; all faces grow pale.
7Like warriors they charge; like soldiers they scale the wall. They march each on his way; they do not swerve from their paths. They do not jostle one another; each marches in his path; they burst through the weapons formed against them and are not halted.

9 " They leap upon the city, they run upon the walls, "they climb up into the houses, they enter through the windows like a thief.

10 The earth quakes before them; the powers and principalities in the heavens tremble. The sun and the moon are darkened, and the stars withdraw their shining (as JESUS is Revealed).
11 " The LORD utters his voice before his army, for his camp is exceedingly great; he who executes his word is powerful. For the day of the LORD is great and very awesome; who can endure it?

Joel 2
Move out in unity, of one mind, of one tounge and take this city as my mighty army. I am the LORD of the HOSTS (my Army). Mount up.. "he who executes his word is powerful"

Appropriate Prophetic words spoken over OTHERS

Christians have for centuries read and responded to books of Prophesy, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Jeremiah, Zephaniah, Revelation. We do it with confidence that those books carry the power of God in Prophesy to activate our lives. It's true. I do it all the time. We are apprehending, appropriating words written thousands of years ago to another people for ourselves.

"I know the plans I have for you....
"I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean;
"Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow.

We read and hear these and many many other powerful words of Prophesy spoken and reach back in time to grasp them to ourselves. We even use them as Mission Statements "not by power nor by might, but by MY SPIRIT saith the LORD of HOSTS".

Yet, when we are in a prophetic gathering and people are being prophesied to we sit wishing we could get a word, that we could hear from GOD for ourselves thru his prophets.

IF we properly discerned and apprehended these for ourselves as they are spoken out they can have the same power as those precious words we read in the word. Not added to, but reinforced.

Last night at Crusaders Church on 79th and Ashland there was a powerful meeting. Many people were prophesied to. Apostle Eckhardt even spoke a needed word over me. I won't share it here. This is not about me.

During the night as things proceeded, I was asking God to give me clarity on a battle I am facing in my life. I listened carefully to the Rhema words spoken over others and listened for what I would appropriate.

Here are several things that the Lord had me write down. Remember, this is NOT the specific things spoken over my life, these were things spoken over others that I heard and recorded for myself as the Spirit gave me instructions to do:

  • This is a Fork in the Road (it is for me)
  • Have peace in the storm for I am Jehovah Shalom
  • I am taking away the shame
  • The season of Harvest is coming. Release the Harvest that makes rich
  • I am making you whole from the issues of your Past
  • Break Thru in your destiny
  • Victory is yours, do NOT be afraid, rebuke, resist and he will flee
  • Shalom Shalom --- perfect peace
  • This opposition is of the enemy, be my battle axe
  • I am rebuilding the broken down walls in your life (I have many)
NONE of these words were spoken directly over me, but by the Holy Spirit I knew that they were for me. Just as those written down by the Prophets of Old spoken to others.

DESTINY

At the end of the service I brought a brief word which I share here:
Many have heard words of destiny in their lives. They hear them, they want to believe them but they struggle because it's not yet seen.
The picture of your purpose and destiny is like if you are in a small boat. You cast out with a rod and reel into the distance. That cast is the prophetic word that speaks of your future history.
The hook on your line grasps firmly onto your destiny. It cannot be dislodged. You begin to reel yourself toward that place somewhere out there. Sometimes there fog and you keep reeling even if you can't see it clearly. Sometimes storms come and try to break the line between you and your destiny, the might push you off course for a little while, but if you stay steady, you will begin reeling yourself toward that distant hidden destiny. Sometimes darkness comes, it seems hopeless. You have reeled a long time. Some even say, cut the cord, it's not worth fighting like this. Winds come, blow you off course, waves threaten to swamp your boat. You are frightened by the turmoil but you have in your hands the connection to your destiny. Reel. Reel. Sometimes you might even come upon a rock, a seemingly unmovable obstacle. You might have to let a little line out to take you around that impediment, but you never lose sight of the fact that your future history is out there and your are connected to it by the prophetic word of God. You will arrive at the destiny as you keep turning the reel, eye set forward, and if you faint not, in due time you will REAP all that Father purposed you for.

Don't give up, keep on, your due season is coming.

His People - We Are Going to Need It: Rick Joyner

Overall, the Body of Christ is walking in about 15 percent of the prophetic vision that we are called to have under the New Covenant. As we are told in 1 Corinthians 3, we are supposed to be experiencing more of the glory of God than Moses did. We are also told in Hebrews 7:22 that we have been given "a better covenant." The greatest of what was experienced under the Old Covenant should be the floor of what we experience in the New Covenant. However, we have not yet seen this, as we have not yet seen "the greater works" than what the Lord did as He promised in John 14. However, His Word is true and we can be sure that before the end of this age we will see these.

The Glory of the Lord

Because we experience more than previous generations does not mean that we are greater than they are. In fact, it could be that we are inferior, but the increased glory is revealed because of the increased darkness, just as we see in Isaiah 60:1-3:

Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you. For behold, darkness will cover the earth, and deep darkness the peoples; but the LORD will rise upon you, and His glory will appear upon you. And nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.

The greater glory comes at the very time of the greater darkness, and it also comes because of it. We also see here that the glory will prevail, and the light will win over the darkness. For this reason, we will see such a rising of the power of the Lord upon His people because we are going to need it.

We all want to see miracles, but very few want to be put in a place where they have to have them. We are entering such a time. The greater prophetic revelation promised in Acts 2 "in the last days" is because we are going to need increased guidance in these times.

Prophetic Authority and Revelation Double

This year we will see prophetic authority and revelation double, but even then, we will have a long way to go before coming to the level of maturity we will need in this ministry for the times we are entering. Under the Old Covenant, there were prophets who knew everything enemy kings were saying even in their most secret places—virtually nothing could be hidden from the prophets. We are in need of such prophets today. Under the Old Covenant, they were shocked when any major event took place that they did not foresee. Today we are still shocked when we foresee a major event, but that will now change.

Regardless of how well we know the Lord's voice now, we need to resolve to know it at least twice as well this coming year. We need to pursue hearing Him speak to us in many more ways and about many more things than we have been open to in the past. The times that we are entering are going to help us in this pursuit. As 1 Corinthians 14:1 exhorts:

Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.

As we are told in 1 Thessalonians 5:5-11:

We are sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night, nor of darkness; so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober. For those who sleep do their sleeping at night, and those who get drunk get drunk at night. But since we are of the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation. For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with Him. Therefore encourage one another, and build up one another, just as you also are doing.

Resolve that this year you are going to get closer to the Lord than ever before, and know His voice at least twice as good as ever before. We are going to need it.

dreams, visions, thoughts - points to ponder by David L. Smith

David Smith is a Very GOOD friend of mine. I respect what he writes and says. This has great meaning, but for those without spiritual eyes to see or ears to hear it will be missed. Read with all your spirit faculties.

From David:

Sometimes, I think that we place too much emphasis on specific moments in time when we experience dreams & visions.

Called - and born - to be "spiritual beings" inhabiting a physical body, adapting to living as a spiritual person living in a physical world can be very challenging.

Sometimes, I think that the Lord uses our "quiet times" of sleep, meditation and worship to bring us dreams & visions - because that is the only time we get out brains out of the way of spiritual thinking.

I believe that the Lord wants us to live as spiritual beings 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for the rest of ALL eternity. That includes today. The trick is doing so while we live in a physical body.

Last night was an example.

While lying down, waiting to go to sleep, I had.... something...

Was it a dream? A vision? My imagination? Just random thoughts?

I came to the conclusion that it really doesn't matter - it was what it was. It didn't contradict the Word of God, indeed, it flowed with the Word of God - so, here it is.

I was on the ocean. I was coming to the end of a long journey across the ocean. How I got to that point, the things that had occurred during the time of that journey were behind me - what was important was what was before - what was in front of me.

What was in front of me was a barrier to my mind. In front of me was a distant shore - and I was moving close enough to begin to see the details. Between the ocean and the approaching shore were the waves of transitions. There seemed to be an unbroken line of crashing waves on the sea shore. There did not seem to be any clear break through the line of transition. Yet I knew that I was headed that way. I would be entering the waves of transition.

It was the only way to get to the other shore.

And whatever it was ended.

In your journey, do you stop and look at the transition?

Do you wait for a break in the waves?

How long are you supposed to wait?

Are you stopping because the Lord told you to wait?

OR, are you stopping because you are seeing with your eyes of flesh?

It is something to consider.

Me? What did I do? What did I do in the dream, or the vision, or the "whatever it was"?

I don't know - but I DO know that whatever I did WOULD BE LEFT UP TO ME.

And, I know what I would do - when faced with a battle, I just want to get it over with - so... I run. I run toward the battle with a shout, a cry, an eagerness to let it begin! Even so, Lord - "Let it begin!"

And I enter the waves.

Is this the word of the Lord or just some nice words?

I don't know this man, Mark Barclay. Seems like he has been doing what I do, bringing a word of the Lord every year. I wonder about this. I have read the past words. His and what The Lord gives me.

I guess it's good to see what others are saying, but this is why I don't read every word of the Lord. Too many voices and I only want to hear ONE.

Word of the Lord I got Friday Night on 120th in Chicago

There was a large prayer gathering in Chicago Friday night. People came out. Prayed.

During that time, I got a word from the Lord. I didn't share it. It didn't seem like it fit just then. But I must be released over the City of Chicago:

The heavens are split. The prayers of the saints have now opened a place of ascending and descending.

Now the thunders and lightning of the voice of God are heard by the saints all over the city and region. Many tremble at the sound. But We will not shrink back in fear.

We crave your word Oh Lord...Speak Lord for the ears of your saints are ready to hear.

Those who do not know your voice shall hide from your voice in fear, for like those who doubt when the thunder comes they will shut up their ears, but we cry out...Come Lord Jesus.

For those who Fear Love and Trust him, these Peals are the Seals upon our heart.

We will not shrink back.

Dwelling with the Most High in 2011 - Fletch Whipp

Dwelling with the Most High in 2011

A Word from Fletch Whipp
23
01 2011

The Lord took me to Psalm 91 tonight. It is alongside Jeremiah 29:11-13 (both Mouse and my life verse) in terms of scripture that has been meditated on with great length. I’ve prayed Psalm 91′s prayer many times over the years committing the chapter in its entirety to memory. Yet tonight I felt the Lord blowing on this Word with a Rhema emphasis, that this is a prophetic declaration to be spoken by His body this year. You can access more prophetic insight for 2011 by clicking here or reading Word I & Word II -Fletch

Listen to the audio version of this teaching here

Fletch Whipp

I sensed the Word of the Lord come to me ‘It is so easy to access My favor, if you will just invest My Word into you. My people have grown anemic in My Word, and I want them on a steady diet rich in nutrients and power, by digesting My Word. My body has been swinging like a pendulum where some have become full of the Word in their head, but empty of Me in their heart, and others have become focused on My gifts and seeking My glory, yet lacking in the knowledge of who I am. Yet there are those who seek Me with their whole heart and fill their mind with My goodness who I will reveal things to that will astound them this year!

This is a year where I will remove my little ones from their nest, and they will learn to fly. I will not promise all lessons to be easy, however I will allow them to develop the muscles to allow them to soar above their circumstances, and people will look and see the Son shining down on them with favor. This year is a year of renewed acceleration, and exhilaration as you walk in victory when I come on the scene in your circumstances says the Lord. This will be a year for some where they find themselves enrolled in the school of hard knocks, but I enroll you to only celebrate your graduation. Know My Word – Hebrews 12, I do these things to allow you to soar so high in the Spirit and in My will activated in your life.

PSALM 91

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

This year, My remnant who hear My voice and seek My guidance will find Me, and I will give them rest under my arm of protection, provision and safety. I will grant you rest, those of you weary from years previously spent toiling with great strength, crying out for respite.

You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you say, “The LORD is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent.

As your papers, and news media, and even some of my own leaders are preaching impending doom & certain destruction, I will yet rescue you individually. Your cries are not too weak to reach my ears, and I am a compassionate God who loves His bride, call to Me, and see that I will protect you in the midst of chaos and calamities around you. Repent of godlessness, and return to Me with your full heart.

You will learn to trust and soar this year....

For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. “Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

You will see My supernatural hand of intervention in things that appear to be heading with certain speed in one direction, and I will come in and change the direction as My Spirit blows on your weakened condition and circumstance. This year the thing that has terrified you will be something I will allow you to possess and wield against your enemy, just as I granted David Goliath’s sword – the same sword that was used to terrify and subdue the people. (1 Samuel 21:8-9). Not only will you see Me as your personal intercessor this year, and deliverer, but you will see Me bring honor to you from your sustained trust and hope in My goodness that will abound forth. For it is I AM who will do these things says the Lord your God.

I just watched this.. It's not prophetic but it's true. Equipping

It's time to be ready for the coming collapse.

Seers Vision after the Collapse - 2 of 7 - Education

There is coming a time when all things we thought we knew will be pulled into a destiny already established. Like a guide rope secured to an unknown future we are pulled along, and despite short term diversions, there will come a day when things will follow a path leading to judgment, justice and adjustment. There will be a collapse.

Today I speak as a seer about education as delivered in the USA. The rest of the world will have differing adjustments. Education will not be exempt when the collapse comes.

At present education in the USA is expensive, unaffordable at the higher education level, ineffective (Our children come from school barely literate), ungodly and inner city schools have become a dangerous place that effectively warehouses children for 7 hours a day with no real educational focus or result. Education in America before the collapse is broken badly.

Worse, there are huge bureaucracies and interests that control public education in the USA. The unions and government administrations are parasitic to the economy.

This is one mountain that must be crushed by Father in restoration to the Biblical Purpose.
Proverbs 22:6 (The Message)

6 Point your kids in the right direction—
when they're old they won't be lost.
Our kids are being pointed in wrong directions by the education system in America and they are being lost. Lost because they are unprepared to make a decent living, lost because they follow after foolishness, lost because they are unable to find and hold down a job, or start a business. They are lost because no standard of righteousness is held out to them in schools.

I will take what Father says in his word to illustrate what God's purpose in education is. I know that it isn't how the verse is understood, but the application is apt:
2 Peter 3:9 (The Message)

The Day the Sky Will Collapse
8-9Don't overlook the obvious here, friends. With God, one day is as good as a thousand years, a thousand years as a day. God isn't late with his promise as some measure lateness. He is restraining himself on account of you, holding back the End because he doesn't want anyone lost. He's giving everyone space and time to change.
So, what is going to happen to education after the collapse?

Right now it is being exposed. It is losing support by the people. There is a huge bubble in Higher Education. Very few people will be able to afford it soon. Colleges will close. State colleges will cease to be able to receive funding in many states of the union as the money disappears. There will be private educational institutions but there will be fewer than now.

In elementary and secondary school the system will collapse, schools will just empty out. Some form of voucher system will come into play. But even that will collapse as money is no longer available to support it. People will have to find ways to educate their children without any government aid or facilities as all. That will be the beginning of a better new day in education.
Education will become a do it yourself activity. Home schoolers have been doing that for years with great success. Miss America this year was home schooled. My grandchildren are home schooled. It works well.

For those who cannot or have no propensity to home school they will do as our forefathers did and group together in community to school children in pods. Small groups. 20 or 30 kids in one room from first grade to 8th grade. The education they get will be superior in many ways in teaching kids basic skills and abilities then that received thru 12th in public education today.

There will be some secondary education, localized. Probably with two tracks. One for a design on head skills (business, education, government) and one for hand skills (mechanics, carpenters, engineers). Since this will be driven and controlled by local informal groups it will be highly variable in outcome. And, there will be a cost. Not money, since at this point money will be in flux, but in trade. A place to live, food to eat and some other things if you teach my kids to prepare them "Not to be lost" and we provide for you.

Jesus will be welcome back in most of these informal "schools". Yes there will be secular efforts at education but they will try to recreate a "Looks Like" retro form of education of the bad old days.

The net result will be that children coming out of whatever secondary education track they run on will be prepared to take their place in society. Form families. Become productive citizens.

Eventually some form of formal education will be created as the nation finds it's financial footing but it will not return to the failure it is now. The time between will have proven much.

When the education mountain is rebuilt, those who have provided and created education without being ashamed of Jesus will find themselves ready, able and among the respected of their generation. It will once more become evident that preparation of Body, Soul (mind) and Spirit are a unified task. Separation of the Spiritual from the rest will fail.

There will be great balance restored as this mountain is taken. Christians will have vision for seeing to it every child finds "the way he should go". Prayers of the Saints in taking this mountain will have been answered. Even the church itself will in some cases take it's place in providing education (as it does now). But, that will not be automatic. The church must see itself as the rightful educator. Princeton, Yale and Harvard could even return to their Christian roots.

What I see above is a vision of the future and the opportunities that I have carried for a long time. If you go back years in prophetic writings I have made, this theme has been there all the time. I know this much, when the money runs out, when things collapse, when organizations can no longer survive, it will open that door that no man can shut and if Christians walk thru it to occupy that mountain it WILL have been the vision and purpose of God to do so.

Of course, not of this will happen without a clear purpose and a fight. The enemy will not give this mountain up easily. It is the collapse, the mercy and love of God that will restore all things.

Then we must be diligent not to return to our vomit and allow public education to become the cesspool it is today.

Watch and Pray as Father brings things into order.

Prophecy should always be positive, encouraging, upbeat and send a thrill up your leg

Prophecy should always be positive, encouraging, upbeat and send a thrill up your leg.

Right?

If you agree with this you haven't read your Bible in a while. I do my best to frame prophetically what is ahead to not create undue anxiety. Some Prophets are good at giving really bad news and making you happy about it. Jeremiah did in the beloved passage (For I know the plans I have for you), but read it all in context. Bad news, but preparing the people. Equipping.

If you consider yourself a prophet and won't equip the people for what is coming you will be judged by Father for your failure. The truth is things are about to get rough, the truth is, when you come out the other side it will be much much better than it was and you will never look back longing for the former days.

Read Ezekiel 36. Bad news but hope. If modern prophets would just follow the pattern set in Scripture we would have less foolishness and more sincere direction from the Lord.

Prophets, Prophesy truth, but hold promise. EVERY PROPHET in history did that.

Prophets Prophesy!
The Lord of hosts says to you, His beloved children, "Just as I have given to you all things, in like manner give to others freely. I forgave you of all sin, hold no grudge toward another. In doing this they will experience My love for them. Expect trial and tribulation of all sorts and be prepared for mistreatment. I have sent you out as sheep among the wolves. Just as I was persecuted, so you will also be for my sake. But take heart because I have overcome the world. Never tire of doing good. Just as I loved you first, love them also. Even those who would put you to death if given the opportunity. Love them and do not curse them. Pray for them and give gifts, that they will see that I love them in the same manner. It is up to you to continue my work on earth. Love never gives up hope. Love never keeps a record of wrongdoings. Love never fails."

Identity by Ronald Coleman

Everyone had an opinion about them; everyone was wrong! Moses had five books of the bible in him! The point? Gods prophetic purpose is our true identity! What a journey. Lord, Identify us with your will for us, allow us to be used for your Glory alone! Identity was the issue the Devil used to crucify Christ! Who are you? Are you really the Christ? Are you a King? What think YE of the Christ is the question He asks US.

Identity is a thread through the Bible that people miss! Abraham had to find His. Moses changed his several times= castaway, prince, ruler, murderer, fugitive, shepherd, Prophet, Deliverer! Joseph changed identities several times! David = ruddy pest, shepherd boy, giant slayer, psalmist, warrior, king, murderer, adulterer, weapon of war, worshiper!

BE who God called you to be. Accusations that you are not are from the enemy. Your identity is Hidden in HIM

Does God Love America? Read this: CHASTENING—YOU ARE LOVED -- David Wilkerson Today

I got this in my Email today. I don't understand Christians who are convinced that God loves America so much that he would never allow anything bad to happen to her. That he will protect her from pain. The opposite is the truth. IF the Father loves the USA so much, then he must chasten her to bring her back to himself. I believe that Father sees the USA as a special place, so much so that he must chasten her.

THURSDAY, JANUARY 20, 2011

If you’re in the depths right now because of sin—if you’re overcome because of the Lord’s rod on your back, be encouraged. He’s chastening you because of his tender love. He chastens because he wants you fear him—to know his care for you.

What, exactly, does it mean to fear the Lord? It means being able to say, “I know my Father loves me. I’m safely forever his and I know he’ll never abandon me. He feels my pain whenever I struggle. And he’s patient with me as I war against unbelief. He’s always ready to forgive me whenever I call on him. But I also know he’s not going to allow me to keep disobeying his Word.
My heavenly Father won’t spare me—because he loves me deeply.” Chastening is for correction.

That is the point of it all. God wants us to accept his forgiveness so we may fear him. “There is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared” (Psalm 130:4). Once we fear the Lord, we’ll want more than just to obey him. We’ll want to please him, to put a smile on his face. That is the blessed result of the holy fear of God.

A Word to Prophets, Apostles, Evangelists, Teachers and Pastors

I have been engaged in a "conversation" that has benefit, but with a caution. I spent the better part of two hours today with a Pastor from Tennessee. He has been under a lot of pressure. People are questioning his call. His preaching. His ability. He has been preaching for 26 years so it's not that this is a new thing for him. I don't want to judge his ability or anything else as many have. I do know that he has ministered to people in crisis again and again. Our hearts knit together as we talked about our weakness and inability and how Great Jesus is.

The problem is that when you have a clarion call on your life it must be your anchor. In some ways I heard it described as a future anchor. One that is secure and pulls you toward the callings and giftings on your life.

There are those who will question your call, your methods, your ability, your anointing, your style. All that is interesting and might even be constructive IF your anchor holds. Your call is your anchor. IF you are questioned too much it may cause you to question your giftedness. I have had that experience. Am I even a prophet I used to ask. Yet, there's that anchor. There's that track record. There's that under-girding of the Spirit of God that says, this is the way, NOW WALK.

I am who I am in the spirit. My pastor friend is who he is. He isn't about to change. I can't be what I'm not. Neither can he. I am gifted to be what God has called me to be, nothing more nor less. I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ in me, nor should he be.

I believe that after our conversation he came away encouraged, equipped, strengthened. I did what a Prophet is supposed to do. Equip. Encourage. Build up.

That's what all the five fold (or four; however you see that), are supposed to do.

I do that and I do it with confidence that Father is in it.

If you walk in one of the ministry giftings and sometimes you have doubts, I want to say to you, Don't listen to the voice of doubt.

There is a popular Christian Song that has at it's core this issue. Casting Crowns sing it, "The Voice of Truth":

Oh what I would do to have
The kind of faith it takes
To climb out of this boat I'm in
Onto the crashing waves

To step out of my comfort zone
Into the realm of the unknown where Jesus is
And He's holding out His hand

But the waves are calling out my name
And they laugh at me
Reminding me of all the times
I've tried before and failed
The waves they keep on telling me
Time and time again. "Boy, you'll never win!"
"You'll never win!"

Chorus:
But the voice of truth tells me a different story
The voice of truth says, "Do not be afraid!"
The voice of truth says, "This is for My glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth

Oh what I would do to have
The kind of strength it takes to stand before a giant
With just a sling and a stone
Surrounded by the sound of a thousand warriors
Shaking in their armor
Wishing they'd have had the strength to stand

But the giant's calling out my name
And he laughs at me
Reminding me of all the times
I've tried before and failed
The giant keeps on telling me
Time and time again. "Boy you'll never win!"
"You'll never win!"

But the stone was just the right size
To put the giant on the ground
And the waves they don't seem so high
From on top of them lookin' down
I will soar with the wings of eagles
When I stop and listen to the sound of Jesus
Singing over me

I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth

As a called man or woman of God, don't buy the voices that are all around you questioning your call. Pronouncing judgment on the Gift God the Father gave you from the Throne. Be what you are. Let that become your anchor and hear the voice of truth.

I had something bookmarked from long ago and it fits here:

God issues a calling on your life for you to fulfill. Along with the calling on your life, God grants you the necessary gifts to enable you to fulfill the calling that He has placed upon you. God is the same today, yesterday and tomorrow, and therefore the calling that God places upon your life does not change and is therefore irrevocable.

Romans 11:29 “For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable”. The dictionary defines irrevocable as being impossible to retract or revoke. In other words, once the calling and the gifts have been placed upon your life, it is impossible for it to be changed or removed.

Your calling is your destiny as a child of God. It is where you will feel the most anointed. It is where you will feel the most connected to the supernatural realm. - Dennis Cramer

Based on my long conversation today I am certain that someone reading this right now needed to hear this. Please, take it to yourself, be encouraged. I had a lady say to me after last Friday Night's service who had been in a meeting a few weeks before when I had ministered prophetically, She said, You are different, you aren't like all the others, you keep being the best Prophet Gene you can be. Don't imitate what others are doing. You reach people that no one else can.

That goes for you too. Be who you are, be the best you can be and listen to the Voice of Truth.

You are an original.....be that

What Will You Do With Jesus’ Tattoo? -- J. Lee Grady Newsletters - Fire In My Bones

Jesus wears a name that says, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” Don’t mislabel His true identity.

I don’t have a tattoo, and I’m not planning to get any at this point in my life. However I’ve met many young Christians who have bought into the tattoo craze. I’ve seen hearts, crosses and Scriptures (English, Greek and Hebrew) on wrists, ankles, arms and necks. When I meet a young guy who has “JESUS DIED FOR ME” inscribed on his back, I don’t criticize his fashion sense.

Regardless of what you think about tattoos, you can’t ignore Revelation 19. I preached from this passage earlier this month when I spoke at a college in Georgia. I reminded the students that one of Jesus’ many names is written on His body. John said:

“And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True … He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. … And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, ‘KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.’” (v. 11,13,16).

“Today people pick and choose what they believe about Jesus without accepting His full identity. They craft a god in their own image to meet their needs, then they stick the Jesus label on their idol.”

Purists will argue that this is not a tattoo, and they are probably right since John’s vision is allegorical. But we must face the truth that is clearly etched in ink in this verse. JESUS IS LORD. Is that how you see Him?

John says Jesus will burst on the scene in all His majesty at the end of history, and all the world will see Him for who He is. Yet today people pick and choose what they believe about Jesus without accepting His full identity. They craft a god in their own image to meet their needs, then they stick the Jesus label on their idol. Do you recognize any of these false versions of Jesus that are popular today?

1. The Rolex Jesus. Many people worship at the altar of this golden calf. This Jesus promises health, wealth, mansions and luxury cars—but the people who benefit most from his favors are the prosperity preachers who demand that you tithe to them.

2. The Santa Claus Jesus. He lives far, far away and visits rarely. He makes a list and checks it twice, and his love is based on your performance. If you aren’t too naughty he gives you what you ask for.

3. The Rabbit Foot Jesus. Some people treat Jesus like a magic charm. They don’t seek to know Him personally, but they figure if they show up at a church service a few times a year, or hang a picture of him on their wall, they’ll be lucky when bad things happen to other people.

4. The Oprah Jesus. He’s soft, cuddly and adaptable to your spiritual preferences. He lets you define your own morality. He’s like a spiritual bartender—he’ll mix Buddhism, Hinduism and hedonism into your favorite New Age cocktail. He invites you to eat, drink and be merry because all religions lead to heaven.

5. The Fightin’ Fundie Jesus. He’s always angry, especially at homosexuals, women who work outside the home, and stores that sell liquor on Sundays. At any moment he’s ready to unleash an earthquake to destroy America. He doesn’t really like other countries either.

6. The Liberal Mainline Jesus. He’s similar to the Oprah Jesus, but more respectable. He doesn’t mind if you rewrite the Bible, but he requires that you wear a suit to church and that you sing the first, second and fourth verse of every hymn. And he asks that you keep your music very mellow.

7. The Rock Star Jesus. This one is hugely popular today. He doesn’t care how you live your life during the week, or who you sleep with, but in church you must be trendy and use lots of hair gel. Songs must be loud (even if they have no content) and sermons must have a lot of movie clips. Words such as “sin” or “holiness” are off-limits because they are just not cool.

8. The Republican Jesus. When this flag-waving Jesus was transfigured, he appeared with George Washington and Ronald Reagan. He’s willing to bend the rules and let certain conservative politicians and pundits into heaven (especially Mormons) if they promise to keep taxes low and guns available.

9. The Democratic Jesus. He rides on a donkey and dispenses good will, health care and stimulus money to all who are weary and heavy-laden. He steals from the rich, gives to the poor and creates jobs for people who are too lazy to work. He’s fine if you talk about God in speeches, as long as you don’t mention sin or offend a special interest group.

There are many other false versions of Jesus out there, but I think you catch my drift. We need to know, worship and proclaim the real Jesus, the Jesus of the Bible whose robe was dipped in blood because He died for all of us. His name is clearly legible: KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. Let’s tell everybody about Him now so they won’t be caught by surprise when this life is over.
