The Helmet of Salvation

Some years ago I was teaching the full armor of God at Church. Ephesians 6.

Each week I explained in detail each of the parts of the armor in the context of what a person in the days of Paul the apostle would have understood. What a breastplate did and how it was worn. What a Shield was, how it was used and best how it was used in the context of other shield bearers as encouragement for those to come into fellowship with other Christians in a church and lock shields with them. Then of course I segued into how that applies to those who are fighting the good fight today and what that all means.

One of the elements of the full armor was the Helmet of Salvation. How important the helmet was. To keep a person's most essential function secure. I couldn't find a real helmet. I brought several pictures of helmets in that day. I then demonstrated how they allowed for hearing, allowed for seeing but protected the head. How we must be able to see and hear to do battle but must protect our Soul and Mind.

I taught that salvation was much more than just getting to heaven. It's about hope. It's about hope for a future, being rescued, being saved from destruction, from perishing on this side of the veil.

Heaven is already in. What about not becoming subject to the economic downturns, to the political gyrations, to the evil in the world. How can one protect themselves? By wearing the helmet of salvation, hope in Jesus. Even if the whole world goes completely nuts, we can live in assurance that our hope is not in the world but in the saving grace of God. HERE. NOW.

To illustrate exactly what one of those ancient helmets might have looked like, I fashioned one out of tinfoil. With the ear holes. How much it did or didn't cover. What it would look like according to the pictures.

It wasn't an exact replica. Crudely done. But it made the teaching point. At that time I was doing a fair amount of teaching at the Church. People seemed to enjoy a spirit filled teaching curricula. Then certain religious people, people who don't have the fullness of the Spirit dwelling in them, those who are the kind of Church Dividers who cause trouble for every pastor, decided to come out against this series of teaching. Since that time I have determined NOT to teach there again until those anti Christ spirits are cast out. I'm like Paul the apostle, when I teach I cause Riots or Revival. At this church I still cause riots. I will defer until the evil is exorcised.

They need to have this style of teaching. They need to know what the helmet of Salvation is and how it can bring them peace in troubled times.

I wore it downstairs before the class to encourage a few people to come and hear this one important teaching. One did. For that person I suspect they have been to this day encouraged.

To the people who were somehow scandalized by the wearing of a tinfoil replica of the helmet of salvation my advise would be that they come to Jesus. Religion has blinded you. The devil likes it that way.

2 Corinthians 4

1 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;

2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.

I long ago learned that it's not about me. It's not my reputation. It's not my acceptance that's important. What matters most is that i preach Jesus. I do.

I don't expect this will convince anyone, I do expect that Satan will continue to blind those who refuse to see because of blind religion. Only by rejecting this evil influence can anyone be set free. The first step is coming to Jesus. My spirit says that those who so attack are are under the influence of an evil anti Christ Spirit and may not even be saved in their rebellion.

I am not a compassionate person. I'm a Prophet. I weep for the lost but when an evil spirit comes against me I first must cast out the spirit before I can deal with the lost person. A person who speaks words of faith and yet manifests an evil spirit without renouncing it is headed for Hell.

Read that example as Judas.

Peter came under the influence but repented.

REPENT! For the kingdom of God is at hand.
