After the Collapse: The Family Mountain

This is number four of seven in a series to prepare the Body of Christ to take the mountains after the collapse that is coming soon.

I have a vision on what to do after the collapse in Media, Education, Government and a general word what to watch for when it all comes down. Now about the family...

When the collapse comes there will be severe poverty driven impacts on families. Homelessness and abandonment will be greater by a significant magnitude than now. People unconnected with family because of distance and the breakdown of communication will drift further apart. Family members, brothers, sisters, even parents will be facing hardships they never have before and will be unable to seek them out. The collapse will have built obstacles to staying connected.

The scattering that has happened in much of the USA from divorces and remarriage and in particular, a scattering from economics when people took jobs out of state means an extended family of ten siblings and parents may live in ten different states. This disconnect will cause a type of orphaning. After the Collapse many people will be alone in a strange place away from any bloodline connection or implied obligation that may carry. They will be alone. Feeling abandoned.

There will be new pressures that will split families like never before. When survival and the idea of making it another week becomes the focus, marriages, families that are based on weak premise will shatter. A man or women will pack a suitcase in the night and slip away never to be seen again leaving the remaining spouse to handle the situation alone. This will cause people in families to move in and out of open relationships trying to find some stability. It will have ripple effects.

Children will become an issue. Families broken by abandonment and poverty will produce more children. Desperation and fear will cause people to make connections sexually that will result in a population boom. These additional mouths to feed will mean more stress and poverty. Child abandonment will increase. The secular systems for coping with this that have existed in the past will break down after the collapse. Orphanages will be filled to capacity and overflowing. Government programs including foster care will grind to a halt as support for these efforts will be suspended.

Elderly people will find themselves in dire poverty as children are unable even if willing to support them. The support given by government will become uncertain and sporadic. This will become an additional burden that will drive families further apart. Government trying solve this problem will exacerbate it by robbing people in ways not yet invented. Families will find it advantageous to stay under the economic radar to avoid this government extortion.

It will appear as if anarchy and chaos will have taken the family structure and devastated it. There will be expressions of concern by many, but without the ability of people to handle it, there will be little material help. People will find themselves living in places that they never thought they could and finding meager provision in ways in which they never thought they would.

The collapse of family after the economic collapse will provide the most dynamic opportunity for Christians to retake the family mountain in 80 years. Not since the Great Depression will circumstances be such that the truth of the Gospel will be so readily received by those with nothing to live or hope for. People will be hungry for HOPE.

This will be the time when "being family", a common terminology in church circles, will take on new meaning. Churches suffering tremendous economic difficulty will be unable to provide humanitarian services that have been part of ordinary ministry to the family in the past. Homeless shelters, soup kitchens, orphanages will be too few and too poorly staffed. There will be failed attempts at creating Christian support systems but without money and in many cases without facilities (foreclosure will have put many churches on the street without a building to house them) these efforts will fail. Government will have long since proven unable to provide any help.

This will become the proving grounds for genuine ministry. Prayer for provision will prove to be the key to survival. Those who are real will see the supernatural demonstration of provisional (daily bread) prayers with power and effect. Many ministries will find themselves adrift in a secular world without the power of God to supply. They will not survive and will become shipwreck. Others will see daily miraculous provision in causing those with a little more to be the hand of God to those with a little less.

The necessity to find support will drive believers and those who will become believers to form community in a common cause of support and survival. Some homes will become homes of helps. Some abandoned empty buildings will become shelter. This will become the greatest time of revival, of signs and wonders ever seen in our lifetimes. God will show himself mighty as people lay down lives for one another. The truth of the Gospel will draw families back to himself. A longing for connection. A desire for safety. A need for security will cause like minded people to stand together in the quest to survive. People's eyes will turn back to mission and ministry to the community within walking distance. Jerusalem. This is that time after the collapse to focus on our neighbor.

Many disconnected families will reconnect as the difficulty comes. They will begin to move together, sometimes generations in one house. This will result in new cohesion and new problems for the body of Christ to be a balm for. As these things happen, as people see the hand of God in deliverance and provision the capacity to begin to believe will soften even the hardest heart.

This will become a time when many will be called to leave the ranks of professions and become dedicated to the cause of rebuilding the family without and demand for themselves. Many will remain single after the family has been fractured. Many will become as the poor and needy they serve, poor and needy except for the riches of the Word of God in their lives. As nuns and priests did in former times and in countries already in poverty, some will find themselves in the gutters of the world as light bearers without so much as a scrap of bread to offer, but with the promises and power of God in their mouth and in their hands. There will be loaves and fishes miracles again and again.

From this will come a restoration of order in the family mountain. It will take time, but there will be a recognition and acceptance by many that this is the way, walk ye in it as the mandate for those times. The wisdom of God will be once again held in esteem. Families will be healed.

There will be those who will not enter the household of faith as there are now. But for those who do, FAMILY will have taken on a new meaning. A new plumb-line of faith will have been put on display. It will provide an open door of understanding of what a Godly Family looks like.

As Christians continue to proclaim truth while living hand in hand and hand to hand with those destroyed by the collapse, a foundation that will not be easily displaced will be established. The lies of government (politicians), entertainment and education will have been exposed as the manipulation it always was. Jesus is Lord will be proclaimed by people who never thought they would. Families (and your whole house) will be saved. God WILL be glorified in this hour by those who are called according to his purposes to do good works in Christ Jesus. Those who do not, those who have walked a pathway not focused on building up and serving those in days to come will discover themselves sidelined. It will be pure and genuine religion, not the abomination that is on the earth as pretenders in many places today.

As in the book of Acts, we will find ourselves holding things in common once again.

ACTS 2:40 With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” 41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.

42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

AND

ACTS 4:32 All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. 33 With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all 34 that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales 35 and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need.

These verses so often pointed to as an ideal will come to pass once again out of dire need. Christians will find it's application to be a road-map for the time after the collapse. It will be driven by Love, Love that is missing where family failed. This time will not be compulsory, it will not be communal living or communistic. It will be people facing a future together and encouraging one another until that day comes.

Hebrews 10:25 without the building.

It's all about the Love of God shed Abroad in our hearts with hearts renewed by the establishing of Godly Family Order thru demonstration of power and teaching; Family will be restored.

This mountain will be taken by the servants of all...who will be first among brethren.
