Anthropomorphism

Attribution of human motivation, characteristics, or behavior to inanimate objects, animals, or natural phenomena. 

I post this because it is the root of all idol worship and false god creation.  Even Christians can become subject to imputing human emotions and feelings to things, animals and situations.    The one that most concerns me is animals.  They are animals.   Not to be abused, but not created in the image of GOD.  Not endowed with the divine spark.  Not heirs of the Kingdom.  Just animals. Yet people spend inordinate amounts of money, love and time on cats, dogs, horses and birds.  I love animals.  Had a dog who is irreplaceable in my life.  YET.... he was a dog and died.  We do this with our cars, with storms, with things.  It is a false worship paradigm.  We are violating the command regarding graven image... even for ourselves.  IF we are created in the image of God, then we must honor that creation with the nobility it deserves.  The example that is most striking is the level of condemnation given to a Micheal Vick over killings and abusing dogs (which I abhor) vs the Abortion Dr Murdering babies in Philly.  Anthropomorphism is part of the enemies strategy.  Don't fall for it.
