Doug Addison: "Your Breakthrough is In Your Current Situation"

This is a prophetic word to many people right now: "God wants to use your current situation to bless you and release finances and favor into your life." The key to it is learning to be content and work at whatever it is you are doing as if you are working for God Himself. This does not only pertain to jobs, but also to being in school, relationship or whatever situation you are in.

The Bible tells us that we can do incredible things through God's strength. Since God's love and power are limitless, what we can accomplish through His Holy Spirit has no limits as well. If we are unhappy and anxious about our situation, it can create limits to what we can do through God. Allowing God's love to flow through us, being content, and having gratitude can change the spiritual atmosphere around us and ultimately create an environment in which blessings are drawn to us.

Philippians 4:12-13, I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.

If you feel frustrated or stuck, begin to find good things in your life right now. Here are a few tips on how to change your current situation:

• Give thanks to God for all that He has done for you. Make a list of blessings and things you are grateful for.

• Think about the positive things you like about people in your life. If you are married, what are the things that originally drew you together? Learn to recognize and help draw attention to the good things in other people.

• Who can you encourage or help today? Who can you help practically?

Ephesians 3:20 THE MESSAGE, God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, His Spirit deeply and gently within us.
