Why the Devil makes Tongues so Controversial to many Christians

The Devil hates the manifestation of the Power of God. He will do whatever he can to discount and dilute it's application in attracting people to Jesus.

Today it became clear that he uses the same strategy he uses to get people to doubt the word of God as true thru the lie of evolution without his power.

Have you ever wondered why the gift of Tongues is so hard to get past people who are not charismatic, it's obvious. It's the gateway gift to the demonstration of the Power of God. Speaking in tongues leads to the full manifestation of all the other gifts.

Consider the nine spiritual gifts in Chapter 12 of first Corinthians:

7Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. 8To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, 9to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues,[a] and to still another the interpretation of tongues.[b] 11All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines.

If you look thru the list you will find that it's pretty clear which are "Acceptable" to the Devil:

1. Wisdom (not too hard to accept, pretty innocuous. What it means is unclear)
   
2. Knowledge (OK, is this education or is it supernatural? still acceptable)
3. Faith (Everyone has faith, right, so what does this mean, Supernatural Faith)
   
4. Healing (Oh, wait a minute, is this for today? Is this Elmer Gantry)
   
5. Miracles (Now we are going way too far, miracles don't happen today)
   
6. Prophecy (Prophets were only in the old testament, right?)
   
7. Discernment of Spirits (Just common sense, Right? nothing supernatural)
   
8. Tongues (Now you've gone too far. Tongues ceased right after the apostles died)
   
9. Interpretation of Tongues (this is about translating language, right)
   

So you see, if Tongues are acceptable then all the other charismata come into effect. What could the devil do if they were all released. Souls might be saved, people lives changed, Christians walking in authority over the powers of darkness. The Devil can't have that.

So, he uses Religion, False Teaching, Doubt, Fear and nominal belief to delude people into rejecting what God intended for them.

I remember when I received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. I told the Lord, I want everything you have for me, I don't want to miss a thing. I want it all.

AND he did.

It's his intention for every Christian to live in all the fullness. This is not about theology or tradition. That would be giving the Devil Ground he doesn't deserve. This IS about holding a lie from Hell up to the light.

The fullness of the Spirit of God is not only available to everyone, but is intended for every Christian. This is the will of God for YOUR LIFE. Don't back down. All the fullness of the Spirit is YOURS.
