Sins Forgiven - It is finished

Today is the High Holy Day, Yom Kippur. I'm not Jewish, but I take this day to remember that my Sins were paid for once and for all on the pinnacle day of Atonement two millenia ago.

I know the one who paid the price, more important he knows me.

I don't think everyone needs to, or should observe Yom Kippur with a fast and reflection, but I was moved to marvel at my salvation once more, even for the sins I might commit today, and say, THANK YOU JESUS.

Because the root into which I am grafted, the Jew, takes this day to fast and pray, I am doing the same.

I wonder how Jesus observed Yom Kippur before the cross. There is no history of it. Passover and Feast of Booths are recorded, but not this. I wonder as he knew he was the ultimate upon whom all the sins of the world would be placed, did he fast as I am today? He had no sin.

As a Christian, these things cross my mind. I don't know the hymn well, but the line rolling thru my head this morning is: HOW GREAT A SALVATION - SO RICH AND FREE.

Yom Kippur. Atonement. It is Finished.

"Return, O church-going people, to the Lord your God. Your sins have been your downfall. Take words with you and return to the Lord. Say to Him: 'forgive all our sins and receive us graciously ,that we may offer the fruit of our lips'."
Yom Kippur is every day. Every day a day of repentance. Every day a day of forgiveness in CHrist, because He said, "it is finished!"
He entered the holy of holies with His crucified and risen body, Hebrews 9:14..

"Praise Him today for your destiny is in Him! Praise Him today for your destiny is in Him! Praise Him today for your destiny is in Him!

It was a good day of fasting and prayer. Thanksgiving for my Salvation. So, I'm glad I did it.
