Pit Diggers arise when the Gospel (good news) isn't convenient

May an outcry be heard from their houses, When You suddenly bring raiders upon them; For they have dug a pit to capture me And hidden snares for my feet. Jeremiah 18:22

The Pharisees hated that idea that Jesus brought, you had access to the Father, most of the ceremony was meaningless, that 72AD was coming. They hated Jesus and killed him.

They threw Jeremiah in a pit. The bad news is the good news might not mesh with what you always believed. Jesus is still in the Miracle Business. He's still making things happen for those who trust him.

We don't need to fear, but we must trust. We are to be the leaders in this new day. This is supposed to be the finest day ever for Christians if we do not lose heart.

I'm afraid many who hate having their little hierarchies disturbed will be looking for a place to set a snare and dig a pit.

Have at it. My God is Well Able!

Just because people attend your church, serve, and give, don’t assume they are saved.

My father-in-law was a deacon in his church for years before truly understanding the grace of God.

One of my greatest fears is that many of our churches are full of people with a false spiritual confidence.

I like to tell young preachers, you don’t fail when you invite people to repent and follow Christ and no one responds. You fail when you don’t invite people to repent and follow Christ.
