A Damaging Heresy

""When you accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior
you were baptized in the Holy Spirit"".

This is a theology / teaching taught by powerless priests and pastors.

It's a lie of the devil repeated from these American pulpits that continues to rob the Body of Christ of vigor. Pastor Phil a week ago preached on the reasons people do not walk in the fullness of the spirit. I suggested that it is because they think "that's all there is". That they got all they are gonna get when they were saved. They were taught this from the pulpit. It's why we have dead nominal churches filled with dead nominal people. I only have one question, what evidence is there in your life that you are Baptized in the Holy Ghost? Using the metric of 1 Corinthians 12-14 do you demonstrate ANY of this? IF you have been baptized in the Holy Ghost something should change, there should be a before and an after. Powerless....Empowered..
This example for instance:

ACTS 19
1While Apollos was in Corinth, Paul traveled through the interior regions until he reached Ephesus, on the coast, where he found several believers.a 2“Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” he asked them.

“No,” they replied, “we haven’t even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”

3“Then what baptism did you experience?” he asked.

And they replied, “The baptism of John.”

4Paul said, “John’s baptism called for repentance from sin. But John himself told the people to believe in the one who would come later, meaning Jesus.”

5As soon as they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6Then when Paul laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in other tongues and prophesied.

When a person accepts Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior the Holy Spirit comes and "dwells" in that person's heart.

Romans 8:9

"Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God. You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ."

But when an individual is baptized in the Holy Spirit the Holy Spirit "empowers" them for being witnesses for Jesus Christ - both verbally and behaviorally.

They are two separate and distinct occurrences in the believer's life. Telling people otherwise is partnering with the enemy's lies.
