“We had to destroy the village in order to save it.”

This quote from the Vietnam war was a fake quote.  It was alleged to have been said by a military officer. The press at that time sent it all around the world to reinforce attitudes against the war.  It was propaganda.

The attitude however prevails in some circles.  In business creative destruction is a type of this attitude.  In relationships, divorce is often the result of this thinking.

I am impressed to say that the Church of Jesus is going thru this same type of thinking particularly in the west.  We have come to accept that God will destroy the church to save it.

The problem with that thinking is, the Church isn't what we think.  The church cannot be destroyed.  It is the resident in the hearts and souls who walk the planet with Jesus and then at some point relocate to eternity.  Still the church, just a different place.  We are the church.

I think there is no question that the church we recognize it is about to go thru some very major changes. Remodeling of the buildings good souls have built,  Of the ministries leaders have created,  Of institutions that have created leaders for the Church, of denominations that have become divisions.

God is about to rip away the facades we have put on the Church.

It will happen in many ways.  The devil is using politicians, atheists, media, entertainment, sports, educational institutions and consumerism as weapons against the Church of Jesus.  I have bad news.  They are succeeding.  Soon we will be bereft of what we thought we had.  Sure, just as in China, there will be some "Acceptable" church groups.  They will fool many into thinking nothing has changed.  But the true Church of Jesus will find a new and true way.

When HE is all you have, HE will be all you need.   I love good church services.  I enjoy it. It just has no future.  I am always amused by people who go to India to "Build a Church".   They mean a budding of course.  The real building must be in the hearts and souls of people.  That is a work of the Holy Spirit.  The building is temporal.  The Church is eternal.  Paul the Apostle of God said it best:

We look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.  2 Corinthians 4:18

God must destroy the Church the world sees to reveal the TRUE CHURCH once more.
