It's cold.
Wind blowing.
Leaves changing.
Winter is coming. For the Jew it's a New Year.
Seasons are changing. We take notice. We know what's coming, at least in the North. Snow. Cold.
The same thing is true in the Spirit. People are saying...something is changing. Something is happening. I hear this all the time. It's true. Something is happening. Seasons in our lives, in our nation, in our world, in our culture is changing. Change is not always welcome. Change is nearly always considered loss.
We are discomforted by change. YET there is comfort. Comfort in the one who says:
Psalms 102:25 Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands. 26 They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax
old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall
be changed:
27 But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.
Malachi 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
Hebrews 1:10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation
of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:
11 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;
12 And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.
Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and
cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness,
neither shadow of turning.
As things change...remembering the Uncreated Unchanging Father God who knows every hair on your head, every cell in your body, who cares about you more then you can imagine, who paid the full price for your redemption, who see you as his favorite one (along with all the others), the perfect Father CHANGETH NOT!
