A case of Intentional Blindness

It is a basic tenant of the Bible that one of the tactics of the devil is to blind unbelievers from seeing truth.

That much is clear from this (insertions in red are mine):
2 Corinthians 4:3 If the Good News we preach is hidden behind a veil, it is hidden only from people who are perishing (perishing from the purpose God put in them when he created them and saved them). 4 Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe (other than what they have been told they should believe by the seminaries they attended). They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News (that Jesus has given them much more on this side of the veil than they are accessing). They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God (or the fact that we, they, are to be changed from glory to glory into his very likeness, doing the works that HE foreordained them to do).
What is much more discouraging are believers who are very close to finding truth and then for some strange reason or another intentionally reach into a drawer filled with tradition and theologies wroth by man and remove a fully opaque blindfold putting it on with a satisfaction that they are safe.

This is not new. Men and women from the beginning of time recorded in the Bible have sought truth outside of God rather than seeking truth in God. Therefore they languish, die before their time and live in less than was intended for them.

This isn't about heaven and hell. This is all about living and the abundant life on this side of the veil.

I have just had a "blogversation" with a dear man of God who is a friend, about the power of the spoken word in influencing events, situation and particularly for healing in our bodies. He has just stumbled upon a truth that could set him free. He seems to have reached back into the drawer. He has drawn back:
Hebrews 10:39 But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe
The Blindfold of tradition is firmly in place.

This happens in many places where there are traditions of men that have trampled the blood of Jesus underfoot. About communion (It's really HIM), about baptism (believe and THEN be baptised), about healing (It's always Gods will to heal just as it's always God's will that everyone be saved), about the power of our words (Mountains and trees need talking to), about the gifts of the spirit (everyone must be gifted and all should be), about the spiritual building up by praying in tongues (I wish you all spoke in tongues Apostle Paul said and Jude said it will build you up in the most Holy Faith) and a host of other issues that keep people in bondage because of tradition.

Again, this isn't about heaven and hell..it's about fulfilling our destiny on the earth. You can't do it well when you do it blindfolded and with one hand tied behind your back. Even JESUS wouldn't have handicapped himself that way, except for the Cross and only his suffering and death brings glory to the Father in Heaven.

This is a Holy Ghost word.
