Warning: I will now go about offending the Religious.

Now that the Easter season is over, I have a couple observations.  For those who live in Pentecost it's a remembrance that while worthy of consideration is not a central focus of our spiritual life.  Yet, it does have a worthy purpose.  Like the Apostle Paul who established churches, preached to pagans in Athens, was a witness to Rome and was the vehicle for evangelism on the Island of Malta,  his proclamation of "For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified" the focus on the Lent and Easter season does have a purpose.  To win the lost.

Once a person crosses over from death to life, from darkness to light, from sin to sanctification there is a change in focus... looking to what God is doing right now in the earth, among his people and building his Kingdom.

It's interesting that Jesus is NOT recorded in Acts spending time talking about the events around Easter.  Paul mentions the Resurrection, but only in relationship to our Faith. 

Jesus in the Book of Revelation mentions His Death and Resurrection, but only in relationship to victory. 

“Do not be afraid! I am the first and the last, and the one who lives! I was dead, but look, now I am alive – forever and ever – and I hold the keys of death and of Hades!"

Later in worship, it is mentioned in relationship to His Kingship and Glory. 

Rev 5:11 I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;

12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing.

13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

14 And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.

It is that posture that moves the Heart of a worshiper, one who knows His of Her God as the King of Kings. 


Easter is a good evangelism tool... but once you become a documented citizen of the Kingdom (name written without erasure in that book) it's simply nostalgia.
