Counting Fish

Jesus instructed the Disciples to go out and fish when they by rights should not have, they caught 153 fish.  They counted them.  I suspect they all went to market to fulfill their purpose... FOOD.   John 21:6-14

This happened AFTER Jesus was crucified and rose again. The nets were not broken.

There are lots of theorise as to meaning of the 153 fish.  Some worth considering, and some just plain weird.  This is not about that.

What is important to me in this prophetic consideration is that they counted them. It mattered to them that they got a count.

It is important that we measure and count the fruit of our labor in the spirit.

It is that the Lord said to me today. I was in El Paso IL.  In my Car. Driving. No praise music on and the Lord said, how many are lost?  How many that were once brought in are lost because of broken nets?

Here's what HE is asking.  What confession, what spiritual effort, which denomination or movement catches and retains the fish it cat aches..  Fishers of men.

The place to start is the children.  Children are brought up in the fear and admonition of the Lord yet at some point are lost.  They never darken the door of a church again.

Here's the question HE is asking.  Which of these NETS hold?

  • Catholic
  • Baptist
  • Lutheran
  • Pentecostal
  • Evangelical
  • Charismatic lite
  • Seventh Day Adventist
  • Methodist
  • Presbyterian
  • Calvin Reformed

IF Father gave you 153 teenagers in your net   ...all about 14 years old, you do your best to disciple them, which of these confessions will retain them best by the time they are 24  or 34?

I don't have an answer but it disturbed me.  Most of the time a confirmation equals never coming to church again. This is a broken net.  God won't honor or continue to send fish to those nets who cannot hold.

That is the word of the LORD!!

Man I was just explaining this week. One Body One Spirit One Lord the concept of the Bride the Lord will come for. I was talking about one of your posts of the testimony of the fishing derby and how I believe the fish flopping around where new converts flopping on the boat. Yes they where caught but they where left out of water and food. They can't breathe and feed themselves how so many leaders are contributing to this and not understanding this is the last generation a perilous time and a call for end time soldiers fit for Jesus return. Some problems being leaders not taking heed to give converts a solid foundation on which to build. The six foundational doctorines which are the milk of the Word and paul said it was shameful those he had taught still didn't understand. The perils in the new testament of which God warns His people and concerning the last generation and how many professing Christians choke and even reject as heresey many of new testament warnings.and perils of the end time. Thanks for the post today well worth reading.
