Bitterness and Unforgiveness MUST end for Restoration to Begin

I have been involved in many ways in the body of Christ outside of what you might expect for an older white German descendant from North Dakota.  It has become now my preferred environment as a Christian when engaged in Worship and the Word.   I love worship and the Word when my Black Brothers and Sisters are flowing. There is nothing like it.

Yet, there is one thing I have become aware of as a prophet that is a substantial hindrance, even a bondage to many in the body of Christ... particularly among African Americans. Christians in the Church who are part of that community are operating under a generational curse that is reinforced by misleaders.  Please let me explain.  It's deep and very painful to grasp.

Way before my ancestors came to this country on a ship and way before most of our grandparents were born there were law put in place that made illegal the practice of owning humanity for your own purposes.  Slavery.

For a brief period there was a flow during which there seemed to be restoration.  Great leaders who's names we recognize came to the fore.  They fought the battle and won.  Here is an article defining who they were.

We still have great achievers, inventors and innovators, but that has become more the exception.  This should not be.  Something is not as it should be.

It's been a long time, yet in trying to grasp this, much as been revealed.  We are all very familiar with the detrimental effects of bitterness and unforgiveness on an individual.  We can cast it out, we can get people to renounce their bitterness.  They can deal with it.  It's a common thing.

I don't think people recognize how bitterness and unforgiveness can affect a whole culture.  That is what we are seeing. 50 years ago the black culture was making progress, it was difficult, there were obstacles there was rampant racism, but people emerged victorious.  People were coming out of the difficulties and creating successful communities that rivaled any other group of people.

Then a demonic influence began to foster resentment, bitterness and unforgiveness.  It has crippled the community so badly as to make it nearly impossible to emerge from the depths.  A few do.  Some are successful.  But the back story constantly retold that reinforces the bitterness and unforgiveness has made it ten times more difficult.  If you entertain them, these demonic strongholds will keep you captive, you will struggle and fail.  This will take a major deliverance to distance you from your connection with these demonic strongholds.  It will be one at a time, but then whole groups will see what it takes and be set free.

Make no question, the issues of the past are real, but they are amplified to the point in people's spirits where they have become a bondage in themselves.  There are inequities and racism, but that has always been the case.

If restoration is to come to the community at large, the bitterness and unforgiveness that has become so dominant, particularly since the Trayvon Martin murder, must be confronted.  This has dialed back any hope many have of getting out of poverty and lack.
The race baiting industry continues to pick the scab of resentment, bitterness and unforgiveness.  There must arise a new movement of leaders who will speak of restoration driven by the very things that drove those great souls to greatness.  They will confront the underlying spiritual disorder that infects the community and the culture.  Bitterness, Unforgiveness and Resentment.

We have some such today, but far too few.  It's time to break out of the victim mold and become what God intended.

That cannot happen however as long as bitterness and unforgiveness remains deep inside.

Come out!!

In Jesus Name.

I understand and agree with the point of the article. I have a question ! When we go to Ezekiel 18 it would appear Israel well it's worth reading. Anyway. God addresses the generational curse excuse thru Ezekiel (in my understanding) Not to be contentious or argumentive. It would seem the Lord dealt with me about this I want to stay teachable. As such if I get into new testament teaching concerning The cost Jesus spoke about. three agree in heaven the Word the Spirit the Blood a survey of the cost creation and application of the atonement and call may well leave no room for generational curses from God. That being said Dereck prince has a 2 part message in the part two free on the web. All He had taught he followed concerning generational curses he could not get free his testimony he sought God the answer It is not me several generations ago the enemy assigned a spirit to destroy your family. The premise was not a curse as old testament but a battle in eph 4 as paul stated against an immortal army.He was much older in age and it was revealed that warfare spans generations. That being said sir I do not even believe generational curses from God are applicable concerning Gods new creation as Jesus was the first born of many bretheren and we changed kingdoms to be seated in Christ. thoughts I ask because so many are being told and they believe it that your family sinned therefore a generational curse is coming upon you even though you are now the temple of the Holy Spirit bloodbought and a new creation in Christ.Thereby believing it and leaving the door open for an enemy in the Spirit realm. When one could teach them they are bloodbought Spirit filled (in many cases )and born again seated in Christ. This however places you in a war that transcends the physical realm as such then one can teach defense and communion with God to wage an appropriate spiritual warfare led of God.

Quotes of the day BE of Good cheer !THE LONELINESS OF THE CHRISTIAN The loneliness of the Christian results from his walk with God in an ungodly world, a walk that must often take him away from the fellowship of good Christians as well as from that of the unregenerate world. His God-given instincts cry out for companionship with others of his kind, others who can understand his longings, his aspirations, his absorptions in the love of Christ; and because with his circle of friends there are few who share his inner experiences, he's forced to walk alone. The unsatisfied longings of the prophets for human understanding caused them to cry out in their complaint, and even our Lord himself suffered in the same way. The man (or woman) who has passed on into the divine Presence in actual inner experience will not find many who understand him. He finds few who care to talk about that which is the supreme object of his interest, so he is often silent and preoccupied in the midst of noisy religious shoptalk. For this he earns the reputation of being dull and over-serious, so he is avoided, and the gulf between him and society widens. He searches for the friends upon whose garments he can detect the smell of myrrh and aloes and cassia out of the ivory palaces, and finding few or none, he, like Mary of old, keeps these things in his heart. It is this very loneliness that throws him back upon God. His inability to find human companionship drives him to seek in God what he can find nowhere else. end Quote A.W. TOZER
