Leaving a Fellowship without a Curse to Follow

If we understand the order of Scripture we see a pattern that is important and needful. No one can leave unless the leaving is a clean break with a blessing. Otherwise a curse will result.

If you must leave, go to the leaders you are leaving and tell them honestly that you are. Burn no bridges. Leave in Love. Never just slink out the side door. Ask for a blessing on your future. It should not and will not be withheld, or there is another curse of division that will propagate in the house. Strive such that in the future you will be able to have anyone anywhere contact those you left and they will hear a good report.

If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Romans 12:18
not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you might inherit a blessing. 1 Peter 3:9

Church splits come because of a leaving that was not in order. The church that resulted from a split will end up in a split. The spirit of split remained and cursed them. If you are going to leave, you must be certain that any of that spirit will not follow you. Anger and dissension are a spirit.

I have had to leave several fellowships over the years.....but always did so in order, with a blessing.

And, any of those people that I had to leave would acknowledge that it was in order.

The spirit of split, conflict, dissension, anger, division will destroy any ministry that allows it to invade. One of the reasons I am so impressed with the ministry of an Apostle I am in the process of encouraging to greatness is that he maintains relationship with those he left as positive. They see him as one they sent. An Apostle.

There is a time to leave a fellowship...knowing when and how is wisdom and discernment. Doing so without can be ruin that will follow you for decades hobbling any ministry you intend.

God called you to endure suffering because Christ suffered for you. He left you an example so that you could follow in his footsteps. 1 Peter 2:21
Be mindful of the spirit in which you depart... or as the Nunc dimittis says:

Luke 2:29-32 (New American Standard Bible)

29 "Now Lord, You are releasing Your bond-servant to depart in peace,
According to Your word;
30 For my eyes have seen Your salvation,
31 Which You have prepared in the presence of all peoples,
32 A LIGHT OF REVELATION TO THE GENTILES,
And the glory of Your people Israel."
