Shipwrecked and Snakebitten

In the last year I have come to know personally several people who say they want to do great things for God. Who say they have a call on their lives. Who believe they are going to do something...someday. Who blame their lack of progress in kingdom work on gatekeepers, circumstance, money, opportunity. Never on themselves. They have no call to anchor them.

They are as shipwrecked as Paul was on the Island of Malta. They are as snakebitten as he was when standing near the fire. The only difference is Paul didn't let the snake bite and shipwreck sideline him. Read the story: Acts28:1-10

The difference is for them the bite took and they ended up staying on the island for the rest of their lives. The call died.

It died there blaming the sailors, the snake, the people on the island and the bad winds that brought them there. They became useless to the kingdom.

It makes me sad. I know God would open the door if they would just walk thru.

They won't.

Shipwrecked.

Snakebitten.
