I was impressed of the Lord Today to say:
A true prophet never focuses on your past, and seldom on your present, but sees clearly the things to come.
He or She doesn't spend time on who you were. They don't spend time talking about your past except to say you are to get past those days.
When you hear a person who says they are a prophet and yet spend a lot of time and energy talking about the former days, you aren't hearing the word of God for you.
It is much more than that.
Your future is bright, even in darkness. Look to it. Allow the true prophetic to shine a light so your path is clear.

There is a good chance that that prophet is hearing from a familiar spirit who may know your past and with that knowledge wants to manipulate your future.
