Sowing and Reaping will Provide Prosperity if it's Done Right

Much of the teaching about Sowing and Reaping has to do with money.  That is shallow and much less important than the real sowing and reaping that we must do.  I believe this will help you get past the foolishness that is taught from some pulpits.  There are many ways we sow.. this is a partial list:

We sow into our relationships.  We sow the time and attention we give people.  Who you spend time with is Sowing and from that shall you also reap.

We sow into our family, spouse and children.  What we invest in them by our love, encouragement and attention will allow us to reap good family situations.  Those who do NOT sow.. reap something else.

We sow into our understanding.  Our education. Our study of the Word of God.  Our expansion of our perspectives.  Our understanding which God says in his word, "With all they getting, get understanding".  That means that Sports and Entertainment are forms of sowing as well.  We reap what we sow.

Our time in general is a sowing. We waste our days when we take a wrong path in sin or rebellion.  How we spend our time is a form of sowing.  We reap what we spend the bulk of our time sowing.  The Amplified Bible has a clear picture of this admonition on time sowing:

Ephesians 5:15 Therefore see that you walk carefully [living life with honor, purpose, and courage; shunning those who tolerate and enable evil], not as the unwise, but as wise [sensible, intelligent, discerning people], 16 [b]making the very most of your time [on earth, recognizing and taking advantage of each opportunity and using it with wisdom and diligence], because the days are [filled with] evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish and thoughtless, but understand and firmly grasp what the will of the Lord is.

One of the ways we reap is in opportunity.  Opportunity is best understood as something that happens in due season. It's a set time.  A door of opportunity opens and then closes again. It's karios.

Galatians 6:9 has to do with this:   And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

Doing Good was sowing.  Due season is what happens when that door of opportunity opens.  We call them Windows of Heaven.  Doors might be better. That actual word means GATES.  Those are opportunities.   The time when we harvest our sown seed.

I prophesy to you that as you sow in the year to come there will come to pass God Sized Opportunities so big that to enter into them you will need God to do it.  He will guide you into them. Like a GPS guides you to a destination, as you sow seed that God blesses He will guide you to your expected end, your harvest.

A heart directed toward the Lord causes those things you have sown and the promises you wait on to come to pass.

Look for that in the year to come...
