The Lord's Standard by Nancy Minor
Isa 59:19 So [as the result of the Messiah's intervention] they shall [reverently] fear the name of the Lord from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him and put him to flight [for He will come like a rushing stream which the breath of the Lord drives]. [Matthew 8:11; Luke 13:29]
When the enemy comes in like a flood… threatening to wash you off your feet, threatening to drown you in circumstances seemingly beyond your control…when the enemy comes in, like water seeping through the foundation… creating mess, and extra work and turmoil…
Do not fear, be of good cheer! The Lord also comes in to comfort, to strengthen, to make firm and establish you through HIS Standard.
A standard in Military terms is a flag or banner or pennant with decoration or emblems on it, representing the people, land or nation that carried it.
The twelve tribes of Israel each had their own flag or standard as revealed in Numbers 2:2
Flags or Standards were used for Identification, Distinction, Loyalty, Honor, and Pride. They created points for gathering around. They reminded you of the past and brought hope of a future. Wrapped up in each flag was a personal tribal history, along with any promises that G-d had made to them of their future.
In military maneuvers, Standards would locate your troop. It would show what ground had been gained (or lost) and it brought courage, for as long as you could see the Standard, you knew all was not lost.
Even so, if you look at our own National Anthem and read the words, you will see that this held true for Francis Scott Key:
So what is the significance of the Lord raising up a Standard?
The Lord’s Standard represents Heaven and its citizens! It represents the approved and lawful way of doing and being right. (Righteousness) It represents all the attributes of the One Who Rules Heaven. And it represents the blessings of living under His Rule!
So what is the Standard of Heaven? During Israel’s time in the Old Testament, it could best be said it was represented by the Veil in the Temple that separated the Holy of Holies. It kept a clear separation and also shrouded the mercy seat with mystery and fear.
But that was only a temporary standard. For when the Standard Bearer came, HE tore the veil in two! So what is the New Standard? It is the Blood Stained Cross upon which the flesh of Christ waved in the winds of all He had created, to secure the Victory for them once and for all.
The Lord raised up a standard, one made of flesh and blood, but incarnate with His own Spirit. First in a manger, then on a cross, then Risen from a tomb that held all mankind captive!
That Standard decrees Victory! Deliverance! Protection! That Standard bought Wholeness, Restoration, Pardon!
That Standard brings Fellowship, Family, and Intimacy with God!
That Standard affords us Healing, Provision, and Peace!
That Standard says, “This far and No further enemy! You are a defeated foe, who must bow in subjection to My People who are called by My Name…”
In the Hebrew “to raise up a standard” means to :
Truly, the Lord will, and does fight for us! He comes to our aid, and he sends the enemy packing. Even when things happen to us that are “bad,” we can look and see how much worse they could have been.
When the enemy is howling mad, screaming at us how ‘we are done for” and ‘we will never make it,’ we must remember the Standard of Heaven which has already been lifted up for us, and Who tells us that He has overcome the World.
Yes, sweet people, we are living in perilous times. But they who KNOW ( have intimate and personal knowledge and relationship with) their God, shall do exploits.
The veil has been torn into two. The way has been. The way of escape. The way of mercy. The way of help and hope. We are told to come boldly to the Throne of Grace. By a new and living Way. The Way of Covenant found only in and through our Standard Bearer, who flew His Colors high upon a Cross. The colors of the skin of man and the Blood of the Lamb.
Whereby, every Tribe, Tongue and Nation now can find their way home to the One who Loves them all and Died to set them free.
We must rally round the Standard and Lift High the Name of the Standard Bearer who gives us Life Eternal- Jesus Christ Our Lord!

(CEV) how the Israelites should arrange their camp: Each tribe must set up camp under its own banner and under the flags of its ancestral families. These camps will be arranged around the sacred tent, but not close to it.

Boldness of the Enemy is Rising up and becomes a good target for the Davids of this Generation
All around we are seeing a boldness of the enemies of God. Everywhere. They are like Goliath. They are screaming out obscenities against the Holy One of Israel. The enemy has no new threats.
1 Samuel 17:
It's everywhere. We have a choice. The evil one uses his minions to despise you. The evil all around tries to dismiss a stand for righteousness as narrow minded, prejudiced, radical, meaningless. Today's Goliath still has nothing new to say:
The world system, evil all around us sees us as impotent and puny. Religion and Politics will try to arm us but it doesn't fit THIS fight.
This is that time. Wherever the warfare is the greatest is the place of your call to do battle. To hide behind temple walls from the evil forces is not the call on the Davids of this generation.
Nothing less than the world we were handed by our grandfathers is at stake. Our heritage is about to be stolen from us by evil all around.
God is saying, "RUN to the battle. Fight. Use the smooth small stones I provide. The weapons of THIS warfare are those you know how to use well. The old ways will not work in this fight. You must stand and declare the victory of YOUR GOD. Be prepared to be ridiculed. To be disdained by an older brother group who wishes you would go home."
"Your greatest opposition will come from those who claim to know ME. They will be left behind in this warfare. They have already lost as they have drawn back in defeat so many times before."
"Fear Not. Run to the battle. I will go before you. The victory will be yours if you do not shrink back. This will not be a battle won by Power or Might. This will be a battle for the Spirit that will reign in the days to come. An evil spirit is trying to take it's place. It must be thrown down. I placed you here in this time and this hour for exactly this battle. You are the standard I am raising up. Have I not shown Myself mighty in your midst till now? Have you not killed lions and bears in my name?"
Go and remove the head of he who defies the Living God.
As the battle is won many will come to plunder the camp of the enemy. It is ever thus. But the enemies camp MUST be plundered. Take no prisoners. It is time for war.
The reign of righteousness is in your hands. Pick up your smooth stones and RUN to the battle!!

8 Goliath stood and shouted to the ranks of Israel, “Why do you come out and line up for battle? Am I not a Philistine, and are you not the servants of Saul? Choose a man and have him come down to me. 9 If he is able to fight and kill me, we will become your subjects; but if I overcome him and kill him, you will become our subjects and serve us.” 10 Then the Philistine said, “This day I defy the armies of Israel! Give me a man and let us fight each other.” 11 On hearing the Philistine’s words, Saul and all the Israelites were dismayed and terrified.This is how some see what is happening. The threat of militant Islam. The threat of a government gone awry. Economic threats. Threats of takeover of the Internet by evil causes. Threats of the elimination of the First Amendment in radio broadcasting by devious means. The threat of a creeping homosexual agenda upending traditional family structure. The threats of wars.

41 Meanwhile, the Philistine, with his shield bearer in front of him, kept coming closer to David. 42 He looked David over and saw that he was little more than a boy, glowing with health and handsome, and he despised him. 43 He said to David, “Am I a dog, that you come at me with sticks?” And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. 44 “Come here,” he said, “and I’ll give your flesh to the birds and the wild animals!”

“I cannot go in these,” he said to Saul, “because I am not used to them.” So he took them off. 40 Then he took his staff in his hand, chose five smooth stones from the stream, put them in the pouch of his shepherd’s bag and, with his sling in his hand, approached the Philistine.
45 David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 This day the LORD will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. 47 All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the LORD saves; for the battle is the LORD’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.”
48 As the Philistine moved closer to attack him, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him.

Their dead were strewn along the Shaaraim road to Gath and Ekron. 53 When the Israelites returned from chasing the Philistines, they plundered their camp.

Adverse Winds will bring you to the Intended Port
I love when the prophetic word propagates another. That's why working in tandem or trio with other prophets is so productive.
A couple weeks ago I heard Barbara Yoder speak on the Adverse Winds. It's a story from the Acts of the Apostles Chapter 27. You will find the key in verse 4. "putting out to sea from there we sailed under the lee of Cyprus, because the winds were against us".
That has been on my mind ever since. Many Christians are living in a time of adverse wind. Change. Shift. Disruption. New Direction or worse indirection.
That's what an adverse wind does. It blows you off what you THOUGHT was your course, the direction you THOUGHT you were led to take.
It happens all the time. Particularly to Christians. We set our plans and then an adverse wind blows. We rebuke the wind. Command the wind. Make demands. YET. The wind blows. It may even cause us to shipwreck. We seem like everything we worked for is gone. We are abandoned on an island.
If you remember the story of Paul at Malta; you will remember how it comes out.
A miracle is accomplished.
Everyone is saved.
An Island is visited by a great move of God
Paul's destiny is reinforced.
It was all God's purpose. How do you think those who disembarked from the ship delivering the "Prisoner" to Rome dealt with Paul? I'm guessing he was treated as royalty.
As a result of this and some other conversation I posted this observation:
So, embrace the adverse winds. There are keys being revealed that will open certain doors in your life. You will be able to open the ones you might never have opened before because the winds have blown you to your destiny.
Let the winds blow.

I can spot a man or woman of God who is truly called of the Spirit of God to a divine purpose. Father will allow adverse winds to blow on them. He wants to prove up their heart. He wants to see if they will stay steady in the face of discouragement, opposition, disaster & rejection. If they pass the test, they will have proven that their call is their anchor. Then promotion comes.

"And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you" (Joel 2:25).
How many years did you waste before you repented and surrendered all to Jesus? How many years were eaten up by the cankerworm of sin and rebellion?
You know you are forgiven and your past is forgotten because it is under the blood of Jesus, but wouldn't you love to get back those years and live them for the glory of the Lord?
"I could have been so much deeper in Christ! I could have brought such joy to his heart! I could have saved myself and my family so much pain and suffering. How blind I was: how enslaved by the devil! How close I came to losing my soul and my sanity. I can never make up for all those wasted years." How often have you thought this?
In his final days Paul looked back over his life and testified, "I have fought a good fight, I have kept the faith. Now a crown of righteousness is awaiting me" (see 2 Timothy 4:7-8).
Paul says, "Forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 3:13-14). In other words, "Forget your past and press on in Jesus!"
Satan's favorite form of harassment is bringing up your past by pulling old skeletons out of the closet to scare you! He will try to persuade you that an old addiction or lust is going to rise up in your heart and take you back to the old life. Or you could succumb to pride, thinking you cannot fall—but then you would be targeted by the enemy for certain!
You might feel the pangs of remorse as long as you live. And yes, the memories will keep you humble. But in God's eyes, your past is a dead issue. As far as condemnation and guilt are concerned, God says, "Forget the past. Press on to what I promised you!"
We see a picture of such restoration in the New Testament when Jesus healed a man with a withered hand. "Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other" (Matthew 12:13). You see, when Jesus restores you, he also heals the wounds.
Beloved, take those old wounds—the worries and regrets about your wasted years—and let God restore to you the very years that were taken away. Then press on toward the prize of your high calling in him!

Doug Addison: I Hear the Train a Comin' and God Says, "Ready or Not, Here it Comes"
While in Calgary, Alberta, Canada last week I began to hear what sounded like a stampede approaching in the spirit. Calgary is known for the "Calgary Stampede" celebration. As I listened more closely I realized that it was the rumble of a train barreling toward us. God spoke to me that He is moving quickly and "ready or not, here it comes."
As I was praying about it, I immediately received a text message from one of my intercessors who did not know what I had just experienced. She was seeing a light coming through a window at me and told me that it was important to press in right and respond quickly to the plans that God has spoken to me. That was a major confirmation of what God is speaking to all of us right now.
Don't Get Distracted
One of the major ways that God speaks to me is through things that happen in my life. These events are often like a prophetic act or they are symbolic of what God is saying and doing on a larger scale. I prayed before I left on my trip to Calgary for God to show me what I needed to pack for the trip. Since I travel a lot, I am normally well prepared for just about anything, yet I ended up getting distracted and forgot the equipment I needed for an event. I also made the huge mistake of not checking the weather! I arrived from California to Canada to five degree temperatures and I was wearing my very thin "Starsky and Hutch" leather jacket. Wow!
God was saying prophetically to not allow distractions, which keep us from hearing Him and being unprepared. I realized later that this message was also contained in a prophetic word I had released on September 1, 2010 (read on the Elijah List).
Watch for Amazing Miracles
We are about to have an encounter with our destinies and it will not be stopped if we don't give up. We are in a time right now that can be compared to what Jesus' disciples went through in John 6:16–21. They had just fed more than 5,000 people miraculously, and Jesus sent the disciples ahead of Him in the boat. He instructed them to cross Lake Capernaum (Sea of Galilee) without Him. In verses 18-19, "A strong wind was blowing and the waters grew rough. When they had rowed three or four miles, they saw Jesus approaching the boat, walking on the water; and they were frightened."
It had seemed that God had abandoned them...in verses 20-21 Jesus addresses this: "But He said to them, 'It is I; don't be afraid.' Then they were willing to take Him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached the shore where they were heading."
Many of us have been going through this very thing, where we have seen God do miracles but suddenly it is dark and the winds and waves of our situations are raging against us. Notice that the disciples did not recognize Jesus as He approached to save them. When God does something new, oftentimes we are not able to understand it all at first. It is interesting that it says when "they were willing" to invite Jesus into their situation that they immediately arrived at their destiny.
