God Speaks to the Haitian Situation by the Prophet Isaiah

Early this morning I was seeking God for a word regarding the Island of Haiti, the earthquake, the rescue efforts, the revelations of heart, the pain and then to get a glimpse of the future for hope and encouragement. I was given several impressions that seem to have a thread. And then I was reminded of Chapters 40 and 41 from the Book of Isaiah. In a prophetic sense, these are the first books of the new covenant of Isaiah's prophetic writings. The first 39 chapters are old covenant just as the first 39 books of the bible comprise the old testament. Chapter 39 ends with the account of Hezekiah. Then 40 bursts forth with beauty of a coming King, a Glorious Father and his heart of mercy and power. 41 declares the sovereignty of our God.

Review Chapter 40 of Isaiah and Chapter 41. There are some excerpts below that are relevant and then I will offer what the Father showed me this morning regarding the future for Haiti. It's very encouraging.

From Isaiah 40.
1 Comfort, comfort my people,
says your God.

2 Speak tenderly to Jerusalem,
and proclaim to her
that her hard service has been completed,
that her sin has been paid for,
that she has received from the LORD's hand
double for all her sins.

4 Every valley shall be raised up,

every mountain and hill made low;
the rough ground shall become level,
the rugged places a plain.

5 And the glory of the LORD will be revealed,
and all mankind together will see it.
For the mouth of the LORD has spoken."

6 A voice says, "Cry out."
And I said, "What shall I cry?"
"All men are like grass,
and all their glory is like the flowers of the field.

7 The grass withers and the flowers fall,
because the breath of the LORD blows on them.
Surely the people are grass.

8 The grass withers and the flowers fall,
but the word of our God stands forever."

10 See, the Sovereign LORD comes with power,
and his arm rules for him.
See, his reward is with him,
and his recompense accompanies him.

11 He tends his flock like a shepherd:
He gathers the lambs in his arms
and carries them close to his heart;
he gently leads those that have young.

12 Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand,
or with the breadth of his hand marked off the heavens?
Who has held the dust of the earth in a basket,
or weighed the mountains on the scales
and the hills in a balance?

15 Surely the nations are like a drop in a bucket;
they are regarded as dust on the scales;
he weighs the islands as though they were fine dust.

17 Before him all the nations are as nothing;
they are regarded by him as worthless
and less than nothing.

21
Do you not know?

Have you not heard?
Has it not been told you from the beginning?
Have you not understood since the earth was founded?

22 He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth,
and its people are like grasshoppers.
He stretches out the heavens like a canopy,
and spreads them out like a tent to live in.

23 He brings princes to naught
and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing.

24 No sooner are they planted,
no sooner are they sown,
no sooner do they take root in the ground,
than he blows on them and they wither,
and a whirlwind sweeps them away like chaff.

28 Do you not know?

Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.

29 He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.

30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;

31 but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

FROM ISAIAH 41

1 "Be silent before me, you islands!
Let the nations renew their strength!
Let them come forward and speak;
let us meet together at the place of judgment.

4 Who has done this and carried it through,
calling forth the generations from the beginning?

I, the LORD -with the first of them
and with the last—I am he."

5 The islands have seen it and fear;
the ends of the earth tremble.
They approach and come forward;

6 each helps the other
and says to his brother, "Be strong!"

9 I took you from the ends of the earth,

from its farthest corners I called you.
I said, 'You are my servant';
I have chosen you and have not rejected you.

10 So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

13 For I am the LORD, your God,
who takes hold of your right hand
and says to you, Do not fear;
I will help you.

17 "The poor and needy search for water,
but there is none;
their tongues are parched with thirst.
But I the LORD will answer them;
I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.

25
"I have stirred up one from the north, and he comes—

one from the rising sun who calls on my name.
He treads on rulers as if they were mortar,
as if he were a potter treading the clay.

26 Who told of this from the beginning, so we could know,
or beforehand, so we could say, 'He was right'?
No one told of this,
no one foretold it,
no one heard any words from you.

27 I was the first to tell Zion, 'Look, here they are!'
I gave to Jerusalem a messenger of good tidings.

29 See, they are all false!
Their deeds amount to nothing;
their images are but wind and confusion.

As I read and pondered the prophetic words from Isaiah and inquired of the Lord he showed me:
Much word has been sown into Haiti...it is not coming back void. Haiti is one of the most "Missioned" nations in the world. There is a result. People are not turning to God, they did already. A strong foundation is laid. This crisis is showing the heart of the people. It is a heart of nobility that has been looked down on. It's now being revealed in the crisis.

The brevity and thin thread of life shows how we are all like grass, like a vapor, here for a moment and then gone. None of us are more than a brief tick of the clock. When man thinks he is something, these things happen and man's vulnerability is shown out.

These families are our blood brothers and sisters in Jesus. Equal at the foot of the cross. We must and we will provide for the family.

The heart of people and the hearts of nations are being revealed. Father sees and responds in grace. Nations and people who hold back at this time will find that reciprocity is a sure system. Give and it SHALL be given to you.

Haiti is an example of seed time and harvest. Much has been sown, now much will be harvested.

There will be chaos, but from that will come order. What happens in January of 2011 will be more important than what is happening now.

Haiti will not ever recover or be restored to what it was. It will be built up NEW. This was the washing away of the former things.

Death will be familiar and continue for some time to come in Haiti. The reality of all this will be felt in the next generation. That generation is being born now. They will come up strong standing on the foundation of the people who persevere.

The gift of God will be the Spirit of hope and a future that will be preached not by missionaries, but by Haitians to Haitians.

The futility of governments, nations, systems, politics and even economic help to "save" the Haitian people has now been demonstrated. The seed is planted. The people are there. Now, as the body of Christ stands with them they will stand up.

All of the secular hopeless agencies will be proven to be impotent in the face of this catastrophe.

In Haiti the result will be the Churches Greatest Hour. The Body of Christ will show itself mighty. As a result when the crisis happens in other places, even in the USA the answer will already be made clear.

This crisis will make many times mighty in God ministries that have struggled to survive and will destroy ministries that in the past were unfocused on the purposes of God.

By 2015 people will look back on this terrible day and see that it is the just hand of God.

The ungodly have no answers, they have no wisdom, they don't have the capacity to deal with the eternity in this. Those who have perished are already in the hands of a merciful God. Many are in that place with Jesus right now and even if Haiti was a beautiful as Disneyland would never want to come back. They are truly HOME now. Their suffering is over.

In the natural there is no warning for this kind of event. Yet in the supernatural there are and have been voices that saw this in part....we see in part, we prophesy in part. It is a warning to never take our eyes off the Glory set before us. His name is JESUS.

Father is already in the process of working this out for good for the called according to his purposes who love him in Haiti. You can rely on that.

Read the Isaiah passage once again and consider.

Blue skies and Blue Seas will come from the Blue days in Haiti. Mourning will cease..Morning will come.

This was such a beautiful and hopeful word for Haiti! God IS merciful and kind.

I totally believe the word that many in Haiti will turn to Christ. As it said, much sowing has been done to reclaim this territory from the Evil One and now is the reaping time. I read an account of the first night after the earthquake where people went to the town square, joined hands and sang hymns. It reminded me of the post-9/11 kind of response to turn back to God in times of terror. God WILL comfort the survivors and bless them and help them.

I pray and weep for all those beautiful little kids with the big eyes - that they may be rescued and kept safe and helped. I have 5 sponsor kids there - 4 in the rural south and 1 somewhere in the rural north. The 4 seem ok according to what I can glean from the Christian organization running their school but might have lost their homes. It's going to be a while to hear about the Compassion 17-year-old somewhere in the north. May God help them all and all Haitians. He has promised to do this and He will.

This is a beautiful prayer for Haiti being passed around by Beliefnet:

Heavenly Father,

It is with a heavy heart that we come to you, not necessarily knowing what we should ask for because many of us are wondering, "Why did this happen? Why has tragedy struck Haiti again and why do so many lives have to be lost again? Why has this beautiful island been struck by a catastrophic earthquake and ruined?" But as many questions as we have regarding the situation, we still humble ourselves before you to ask for your mercy to be upon Haiti and its people. Extend your hand upon the land and restore all that has been lost, destroyed and damaged to be better than it was before. As rescue teams search for casualties, give them foresight. May they be led by your wisdom, and encouraged by your strength and advised by your discernment. There are yet people who are surviving and I pray that the rescue workers would find them in time and revive them. For the lives that will be lost, we pray for immediate comfort to come to the family and friends of the deceased. For those of us who are watching this unfold from the outside, I pray that you would give us hearts of compassion so that we can give out of our surplus to fill the deficit that is widening in Haiti. May we all extend ourselves in any way possible to secure our brothers and sisters in Haiti. And may every prayer regarding this tragedy be heard and responded to in your good time.

In Jesus' Name,

Amen

This has already happened. I was just reading an AP article: "Religious Haitians See Hand of God in Earthquake". It backs up a lot of what you heard from the Lord.
